Jonathan Niven Cryer is an actor, writer, director, and producer from the United States. He was born into a show industry family and made his film debut as a young photographer in the 1984 romantic comedy No Small Affair; his breakout part came in the 1986 film Pretty in Pink, scripted by John Hughes.
