List of Wealthiest British People in 2022
  • Jim Ratcliffe: $16.3 billion versus $17 billion in the previous year.
  • Gopichand Hinduja: $13.2 billion for Hinduja Brothers, down from $15.3billion in the last year.
  • Michael Platt’s BlueCrest hedge fund has earned him $15.2 billion, up from $13 billion last year.

Who will be the wealthiest Britsh in 2022? We examine the variations in the wealth of British billionaires, famous people, and rising stars between 2021 and 2022. We also demonstrate their financial decisions throughout the previous 12 months.

Jim Ratcliffe: $16.3 billion versus $17 billion in the previous year

Ratcliffe, who founded the petrochemicals giant Ineos and rose to become the richest man in the UK, was reared in a council house. He received a knighthood from the Queen for his contributions to finance and commerce, and he then devised an odd scheme to return the favor.

Ratcliffe promptly departed the nation to reside in Monaco, a tax haven that will enable him to avoid paying £4 billion in UK taxes. A unique approach to pay back the nation’s social system and taxes, which supported his childhood home and grammar schooling.

In addition to purchasing the Swiss team Lausanne, he also acquired the French club OGC Nice. He has made investments in Formula One, the America’s Cup, competitive cycling, marathons, and Mercedes. But he doesn’t stop there; he also purchased the British clothing line Belstaff.

The business tycoon lives close to princess Alix Napoleon on the Bonaparte Imperial estate in Geneva and owns two super yachts, the Hampshire I and Hampshire II. Ratcliffe enjoys spending money on adventures and has traveled to both the North and South Poles. In 2015, he also took a month-long motorcycle excursion through South Africa. Mr. Ratcliffe purchased a sizable plot of property with a charming house in the wild, remote area of Iceland where he enjoys getting away to go fishing.

$13.2 billion for Hinduja Brothers, down from $15.3 billion in the previous year

The Hinduja brothers, who have amassed wealth through investing in virtually everything, make up the Hinduja Group. They are in the trucking, lubricants, finance, and even television business. At a charitable occasion, the Prince of Wales meets Gopichand Hinduja in the picture.

The older brothers, Srichand and Gopichand, dwell in London, Prakash is based in Monaco, while Ashok, the youngest, manages their Indian business from Mumbai.

The family maxim “Everything belongs to everyone and nothing belongs to anyone” has always guided the siblings’ behavior. However, there was signs in 2020 that all may not be as united as it seemed on the surface.

The company’s Swiss bank is the subject of a court battle in which Srichand, the eldest brother, is attempting to assert exclusive control (for him, his daughter – the chairman; and her son – the CEO)

$15.2 billion, up from $13 billion last year, according to Michael Platt

Billionaire Michael Platt's BlueCrest Is Set for Record Year With 114% Gain - BloombergOne of the few billionaires who has had a successful year is Platt. The businessman used to work for JP Morgan before focusing on investing for his BlueCrest fund. With over 500 employees and a tremendously successful Hedge Fund office, the business has helped him increase his earnings by $5 billion since the previous year.

When Platt was 14 years old, he put £500 in a shipping line that later tripled in value when his grandmother exposed him to investing. He has a keen eye for investments and, by predicting it in 2007 and taking all required steps, even managed to avert the financial catastrophe of 2008.

James Dyson: $8.3 billion, down from $9.9 billion in the previous year

Even though the company spends about $10 million every week on product development, James Dyson has nonetheless been able to set aside a sizeable sum for himself.

When he was a child and frustrated that his family’s vacuum wouldn’t take up the first as well as he could, it all began. Despite not having an engineering degree, he is the man behind some of the most well-known items in the world, including vacuums, hair straighteners, and air purifiers.

James Dyson was informed by the UK government in 2020, shortly after the first wave of the coronavirus struck, “Thanks but no thanks.” The idea, which cost Dyson $24 million (and taxpayers’ money zero), was born out of the NHS’s difficulty in supplying ventilators to hospitals during the pandemic’s initial wave. However, after initially ordering 10,000 units of Dyson’s innovative CoVent ventilator, the government canceled the contract and charged Dyson with “point scoring.”

James Dyson owns an opulent country home in the Dodington Park Georgian estate. It is just massive, spanning 300 acres of picturesque countryside, and big enough to accommodate around 18,000 typical-sized dwellings.

He also paid $44 million for “Singapore’s most expensive flat,” a three-floor, five-bedroom penthouse at the top of the 64-story Guoco Tower. However, he apparently sold the property by the end of 2020.

Denise Coates: $5.3 billion, down from last year’s $6.5 billion

One of the biggest gambling websites in the world, Bet365, has Denise and her brother John serving as co-CEOs. She began by purchasing the domain name and developing the website. Since then, she has increased her income yearly (except from this year, of course), and in 2020 she will receive $700 million, making her the highest-paid British CEO (and the highest taxpayer in Britain).

Mrs. Coates’ new house in Cheshire is almost finished being built. When you wager using the app, you assist Denise in realizing her dream home, on which she alone spent £5.5 million to acquire 12 different plots of land and pay the greatest architects to create it.

About $700 million, according to Bono

U2’s lead singer Bono made a respectable living from his tours and music, but he actually made most of his money in real estate (and Facebook investments). He owns numerous properties in Ireland, including the Clarence hotel in Dublin, which he transformed into a five-star luxury establishment.

J.K. Rowling: $1.1 billion, up from $1 billion the previous year

J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, had a difficult time: she relocated to Portugal, got married, had a child, got divorced, and then returned to the UK while jobless and receiving benefits. She sent the book to numerous publishers, all of whom turned it down. Finally, it was taken up by the multi-billion pound empire that we are familiar with. One of the richest woman in the UK today is Rowling.

Paul McCartney: 1.2 billion dollars

Those Fab Four. One of the most influential, prominent, and prosperous groups in history. They shattered numerous sales records, and McCartney and Lennon wrote the majority of the songs. Compared to the other members of the band, he had more solo success after the Beatles, and his shows are still completely sold out. He still brings in $70 million per tour, but now the majority of his income comes from royalties.

Paul McCartney is a property tycoon who owns properties worth at least $100 million all over the world, including a townhouse in New York with views of the Museum of Modern Art, a $4 million mansion in Beverly Hills, a ranch in Arizona, and a stunning $15.5 million Manhattan Penthouse.

Jodie Comer: $6 million, up from $3 million in the previous year

The 28-year-old actress, who made £100k each episode of Killing Eve, is best recognized for her role. Prior to it, she had already made appearances in several TV episodes and miniseries. She has won numerous honors, including the BAFTA for Best Actress. According to reports, she earned £1.5 million from the 2021 movie “Free Guy,” in which she costarred with Ryan Reynolds.

Maisie Williams: $6 million still

She is only 23 years old, but already has a spot on the UK millionaires list because to her part in “Game of Thrones.” For each episode of Game of Thrones, she reportedly made £158,000. She actually sought for the part of Arya in Game of Thrones because she was desperate to purchase a new laptop. She can now buy a lot.

Saoirse Ronan: $9 Million, up from $7 Million the year before

Four-time nominee for an Oscar Saorise Ronan has been in a number of well-known movies and television shows. Her performance in “Atonement” was what really brought her to public attention, but she has succeeded in every part she has played. Them fact, they were so blown away by the audition tape she put in that they hired her without even meeting her for the main role in Peter Jackson’s 2009 film The Lovely Bones.

Tom Holland: $18 Million, up from $15 Million the year before

At only 25 years old, $18 million? When you’re Spiderman, you get that. To a large extent, Tom Holland’s inclusion on our list is due to the Marvel Studios movies. In fact, his appearance in “Avengers: Endgame” alone brought in $3 million for him. From his first position in the West End production of “Billy Elliot the Musical,” he has gone a long way. Even the role of the upcoming James Bond could be played by him.
