President Reaffirms Pakistan’s Lasting support for Israel-Palestine Conflict

President Dr Arif Alvi has on Thursday (today) penned a letter to his Palestinian counterpart, Mahmood Abbas to express solidarity amidst Israel’s ongoing atrocities in Palestine.

In his letter, President Alvi expressed Pakistan’s strong support to raise a voice for the rights of Palestinian Muslims.

He re-assured Pakistan’s efforts in gathering the international community to look into the serious conflict between Israel and Palestine.

The President reaffirmed Pakistan’s abiding support for a just settlement of the Palestine issue in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions.

He strongly rebuked Israel’s brutal terrorist acts against Palestinians saying these are against humanitarian norms, human rights and international law.

The President said the people of Pakistan share the pain and distress of the Palestinian people. He expressed his profound sympathies and condolences for the victims of the Israeli attacks.

Earlier, the President had termed the heinous Israeli Forces’ attack at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque as “shame” and also assured the Palestinian brethren that very soon international politics will be based on morality and not on vested interests.

In his tweet, the President wrote, “It is a shame that Israeli apartheid against Palestinians continues. Atrocious attack on peaceful praying Muslims is given the usual media spin of ‘clashes’. My brothers don’t lose hope. Time is near when International Politics will be based on morality & not on vested interests.”

Furthermore, more than 200 Palestinians and around twenty Israeli police officers had sustained injuries due to violent clashes at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, where Israeli police stormed and forcefully dispersed worshippers away in occupied East Jerusalem.

Israeli police fired rubber bullets and stun grenades towards Palestinians at Jerusalem’s Al Aqsa Mosque on Friday as weeks-long stresses between Israel and the Palestinians over Jerusalem intensified again.

Calls for calm emitted in from the United States and the United Nations while the European Union and Jordan express deep concerns over this matter.

Amidst the ongoing airstrikes by the Israeli Forces in Gaza, Several Pakistani celebrities have voiced support for innocent Palestinians being martyred and injured.

So far, at least 20 people have been martyred and 80 people left wounded as Israel launched military airstrikes in Gaza following intensified tensions between the law enforcement agencies in Jerusalem with Palestinian civilians.

However, netizens, human rights activists and many prominent personalities from across the globe have denounced the attack and demanded world leaders to take proper notice.

Similarly, showbiz celebrities from Pakistan have joined the bandwagon to express their outrage over Israel’s apartheid against the Palestinians.

Actress Neelam Muneer Khan penned a touching prayer for the Muslims for Palestine.

Acclaimed actress Saba Qamar took to her Instagram to express solidarity and condemned the brutal act of terrorism.

Singer Farhan Saeed lambasted at the silence of world leaders over the apparent “terrorism” continuing in Jerusalem.

Singer Asim Azhar is also saddened over “Israel’s continuous oppression” against innocent Palestinian Muslims.

On the other hand, Naimal Khawar Khan begged her followers to share and speak up about the cruelties happening in Palestine.

Note that the death toll has soared to 20 in ongoing Gaza airstrikes with 520 reported injuries, the Palestinian health ministry said on Tuesday.

According to the reports, the victims include nine children. The youngest victim was 10-years-old, Gaza health officials told.

The Israeli military said it struck several Hamas targets in response to continued rocket fire out of Gaza. It said eight sites were struck.

Hamas fired dozens of rockets into Israel, including a barrage that set off air raid sirens as far away as Jerusalem, after almost 300 Palestinians were hurt in violence at Al Aqsa mosque.

Seven members of one family, including three children, were killed in northern Gaza after an explosion whose origins were unknown.

Tensions in Jerusalem have been fuelled by the planned forced expulsions of Palestinian families from the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood and by an Israeli forces raid on Al Aqsa on one of the holiest nights of Ramadan.

Pakistan Strongly rebukes Israeli Occupation Forces’ Attack In Al Aqsa Mosque

Pakistan has strongly condemned the attack on innocent Palestinians at the Al Aqsa Mosque, where Israeli police stormed and forcefully dispersed worshippers away in occupied East Jerusalem.

In a statement by Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri such attacks, especially during the holy month of Ramazan, are against all humanitarian norms and human rights laws. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

“Pakistan strongly condemns attacks on innocent worshippers in Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli Occupation Forces. We pray for speedy recovery of injured, reiterate our steadfast support to the Palestinian cause & urge the int’l community to take prompt action to protect the Palestinian people,” the statement read.

The United Nations (UN) has prompted Israel to call off any forced ejections in Jerusalem, warning that its actions could raise to “war crimes”.

“We call on Israel to immediately call off all forced evictions,” UN rights office spokesman Rupert Colville told.

“We wish to emphasise that East Jerusalem remains part of the occupied Palestinian territory, in which international humanitarian law applies,” Colville said.

“The occupying power… cannot confiscate private property in occupied territory,” he said, adding that transferring civilian populations into the occupied territory was illegal under international law and “may amount to war crimes.”

Turkey condemns Israels Attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque

Turkish officials have also condemned the raid by Israeli police on the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

“Strongly condemning the attack this evening on al-Aqsa Mosque, our first Qibla. It is inhumane for Israel to target innocents praying during Holy Ramadan,” Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Twitter.

“Will always stand by the just cause of the people of #Palestine,” Cavusoglu added.
