‘Pakistan will continue to be a force for a prosperous region’: FM

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says holding of Intra-Afghan negotiations is an important milestone in establishing peace in Afghanistan.

While speaking to the Intra-Afghan negotiations in Doha via video link, FM Qureshi said it is welcoming that the world is accepting Pakistan’s stance.

Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan Mohammad Sadiq attended the opening ceremony.

The Foreign Minister said Pakistan has been holding the stance that Afghan issue could not be resolved through use of force.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said it is a golden opportunity for the Afghan leadership that they pave the way for durable peace in Afghanistan through these negotiations.

He said Pakistan sincerely played its re-conciliatory role in Afghan peace process as a shared responsibility, and it will continue doing so.
