Did you know? Google has recently launched death benefits for employees

Did you know? Google has recently launched death benefits for employees,

When a Google employee dies their spouse receives half of the employee’s salary for 10 years and their children get $1000 per month until they are 19

Google provides great benefits to the employees, including free food, fitness classes, laundry service, and car washes. As per a recent storey, Google has recently launched death benefits to employees, including a generous offer to pay a deceased employee’s spouse or partner half of their salary for a decade.

The disclosure of these death benefits first reported by Forbes also comes with “no tenure restriction,” but it currently only applies to employees in the United States. It was also implemented earlier this year.

A Google official confirmed to Mashable that the advantages don’t end with the paycheck. A deceased employee’s surviving spouse or partner will get vested stock benefits, and children will receive $1,000 per month until they reach the age of 19. If the youngster is enrolled full-time in school, the timeline can be prolonged.

The remote-work order issued Monday by Google CEO Sundar Pichai also affects other companies owned by Google’s corporate parent, Alphabet. It marks a six-month extension of Google’s previous plan to keep most of its offices closed through the rest of this year.

“I know this extended timeline may come with mixed emotions and I want to make sure you’re taking care of yourselves,” wrote Pichai, in an email to employees.

The prolonged lockdown of Google’s offices could influence other major employers to take similar precautions.
