Naqvi lauds FC role in maintaining peace across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday met with the 49th Common Police Officers appointed to the Frontier Constabulary, extending his best wishes as they embarked on their new assignments within the force.

Minister Naqvi highlighted the essential role that the Frontier Constabulary played in maintaining peace and security across Pakistan, especially in the ongoing battle against terrorism.

In his address, Naqvi praised the dedication of the Frontier Constabulary, stating, “The role of the Frontier Constabulary in ensuring peace and security is of utmost importance.”

He commended the force for its collaboration with other law enforcement agencies in combating terrorism, noting, “In the fight against terrorism, the Frontier Constabulary is battling alongside other law enforcement agencies.”

Referring to the recent sacrifice of ten FC soldiers in Dera Ismail Khan, Naqvi honored their courage and commitment to the nation, saying, “Ten brave FC soldiers sacrificed their lives for the nation, setting a high standard of dedication.”

He expressed that such sacrifices further strengthen Pakistan’s resolve in the fight against terrorism.

“The martyrs of FC are our valuable asset, and the nation holds their unparalleled sacrifices in high esteem,” Naqvi stated.

Naqvi also highlighted advancements in the Frontier Constabulary, sharing that the force was being equipped with modern technology and tools to enhance its capabilities.

Addressing the young officers, he emphasized the significance of integrity and ethical standards in law enforcement, urging them to fulfill their duties with the highest standards of discipline.

“Young officers bring fresh energy to any institution,” he remarked, adding, “Good behavior is the hallmark of a good officer.”

He encouraged the officers to build meaningful relationships with the public and to prioritize service.

“Go out of your way to help and serve the public,” he advised.

PM strongly condemns terrorist attack on Police Station in Kurram

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a police station in district Kurram in which a Frontier Constabulary personnel embraced martyrdom.

Paying tribute to the martyr, the prime minister expressed his heartfelt condolence to his family members.

He prayed to Allah Almighty to elevate the ranks of the departed soul in Jannah.

The prime minister also prayed for speedy recovery of those injured in the incident and directed that all possible medical assistance be provided to them.

He emphasized that such cowardice acts will not shake our resolve against terrorism, the prime minister said.

Rana Sana: 2,000 FC members will get anti-riot training this FY

ISLAMABAD: While describing the Frontier Constabulary (FC) as a national asset, Minister of Interior Rana Sana Ullah said on Wednesday that anti-riot training will be provided to 2,000 FC members this fiscal year and 5,000 next year.

Addressing the passing out of the First Batch of FC Anti-Riot Training Course, he stated that the FC will be supplied with all-out facilities to make it the greatest professional force. He stated that following anti-riot training, the FC will now offer additional support to the Islamabad Police and Rangers to maintain peace and order in the Federal Capital.

The minister also stated that the government will subsidize the training of 5,000 FC employees next year. He stated that when the law was amended, the FC could also execute the duty of maintaining law and order.

Considering the FC’s extra anti-riot function in addition to defending the country’s borders, he stated that women should be recruited into the force as they form more than half of the country’s overall population. He requested that the FC Commandant submit a plan for the enlistment of women into the force. He would not only get the project approved, but he would also get funding.

The minister praised the Islamabad Police, FC, and Rangers for using tear gas to disperse armed rioters and demonstrators in the Federal Capital on May 25. He stated that all three units performed admirably in maintaining law and order.

Rana Sanaullah stated that 400 FC staff had received specific anti-riot training, for which Rs 333 million had already been spent out of the budget’s total allocation of Rs 667 million.

He stated that the pay and other allowances of the Islamabad Police and FC had been increased, bringing them in line with the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police forces, costing an extra Rs 738 million.
