French guy Angler catches 30kg  goldfish: See Photos

Goldfish are commonly kept as pets, yet few people expect them to become large. People stated that a goldfish weighing more than 30kg was caught from Bluewater Lakes in Champagne, France.

The carrot, named because of its orange colour, appears gigantic in the hands of Andy Hackett, the angler who caught it, in a Facebook post. A video posted on Facebook by Bluewater Lakes, a premier carp fishing destination, shows the man releasing the fish into the lake.

The magnificent fish impressed netizens, and the fisheries answered a user’s question regarding its longevity. Goldfish can live for more than 35 years, and Carrot is roughly 20 years old and in good health. “Utmost care is taken when all our carp are caught and are treated for any cuts and wounds etc. They’re never taken out of the water, all photos and care is done on a floating mat just in case the carp decide to flip,” read the response.

“Well Done Andy on the Capture of the stunning Carrot,” a Facebook user remarked. “What a gorgeous fish, amazing,” another user commented.

According to the report, the elusive fish was thrown in the lake by Jason Cowler, the fishery manager, when it was a guppy. It is a mix of leather carp and koi carp that is usually orange in colour.

Hackett is captivated and believes himself fortunate to have captured Carrot. “I always knew the Carrot was in there but never thought I would catch it,” he told The Guardian.

“I knew it was a big fish when it took my bait and went off side to side and up and down with it. Then it came to the surface 30 or 40 yards out and I saw that it was orange,” he said. “It was brilliant to catch it but it was also sheer luck.”
