FM Discusses Kashmir Issue, Afghan Peace Process With UN Chief

FM Qureshi Calls UN Chief

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a telephonic conversation with the United Nations (UN) Chief Antonio Guterres here on Thursday (today).

Both the leaders exchanged views on matters related to mutual interest specially the ongoing Indian brutalities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

They also discussed the global Coronavirus situation and the Afghan peace process.

The Foreign Minister during his call said, “The active and dynamic role of the UN Secretariat is a testament to your leadership skills.

He further praised Guterres’s concurrence for reappointment as the UN Secretary-General.

However, the UN Chief extends thankfulness to FM Qureshi for assuring Pakistan’s support for his re-appointment.

Earlier in the day, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan has been playing a role in peace and development in the region and we want to promote peace and harmony with our neighbours.

According to details, Qureshi while addressing a session of Islamabad Security Dialogue on peace and security in the region said that Pakistan has decided not to be a part of any regional conflict.
