HYDERABAD: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested factory owner and line superintendent for generating electricity without license.
The FIA produced the arrested accused in the court, the consumer court handed over the accused to the FIA on a 5-day investigative remand.
The FIA says that since 2014, the factory owner Gohar Ullah was illegally generating electricity in his textile mill.
The FIA said that the 3.6 MW power plant at the factory was running on gas for which no No Objection Certificate was taken and no license application was made.
According to the FIA, the government has suffered an estimated loss of 670 million so far due to illegal power generation.
