As the entire Muslim Ummah is celebrating the joyous occasion of Eid Al-Fitr on Thursday, May 13, several sports stars have extended heartfelt greetings on this occasion.

Muslims around the world including the Middle East, Canada, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and parts of Europe are celebrating Eid Al-Fitr 2021 amidst strict COVID precautionary guidelines to curb the spread of the virus.

However, sports stars have prayed for the health, prosperity and endless happiness of every Muslim out there.

Imad Wasim in his tweet wrote, “#EidMubarak. May Allah SWT be pleased with all our efforts and prayers during the blessed month of Ramadan. May Allah bless you all with endless happiness and prosperity. Please make Duas for the whole of the Muslim ummah especially our sisters and brothers of Palestine.”

Cricketer Hasan Ali has dedicated his happy occasion to the Muslims of Palestine, who are suffering the atrocities of Israeli forces.

“Eid Mubarak #EidWithPalestine #EidAlFitr #Palestinebleeds,” he tweeted.

The legendary cricketer took to his social media and shared a video message, wishing everyone on the blessed occasion of Eid Al-Fitr.

Wish you all a very happy #EidAlFitr. Mubarak! May the Almighty Allah accept all our prayers and good deeds. May this special occasion bring peace and prosperity to everyone,” tweeted Wahab Riaz.

Moreover, Pakistan cricket team captain Misbah-ul-Haq, while wishing the joyous Eid, also urged everyone to stay safe.

What Is Eid Al-Fitr?

Eid Al-Fitr means “festival of breaking the fast” and marks the end of Ramadan. It is celebrated with full ardour for three days in all Muslim-majority countries.

How Is The Occasion Celebrated?

On this occasion, which lasts for three days, Muslim citizens travel long distances to visit their families. A variety of food is prepared in the houses and the visitors keep coming and going in the houses throughout the day. Muslims begin their Eid celebrations by performing post-dawn prayers, followed by a short address.

The prayers take place in mosques or large halls but in many countries, they also take place in an open area. People congratulate one another after Eid prayers.

Children, dressed in new clothes, are offered gifts and money, termed as ‘Eidi’ to celebrate the joyful festival.

Also, each country has traditional desserts and sweets that are prepared before Eid or on the morning of the first day.

But this time, millions of Muslims will not be able to enjoy the joys of Eid as they are confined to their homes due to the COVID-19 outbreak globally.

Eid Al-Fitr 2021: Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Will Meet Today for Sighting Crescent Of Shawwal

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, under the chair of Maulana Abdul Khabir, will meet today (Wednesday) for the Shawwal moon sighting on the 29th of Ramadan.

Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad will preside over the meeting. The zonal committees will meet in their respective areas while the central body would gather moon sighting evidence from across the country.

On Tuesday, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted the chances of sighting the new moon of Shawwal 1442 AH on the evening of May 12 i.e. 29th of Ramazan (Wednesday) are slim.

If the moon is not sighted on Wednesday, then there would be 30 days of the holy month of Ramadan, and Eid Al-Fitr in Pakistan will be celebrated on Friday, May 14.

“The new moon of Shawwal,1442 AH will be born on crossing conjunction point at 00-01PST on 12-05-2021.”

According to astronomical parameters, “There is No Chance of sighting the new moon of Shawwal,1442 AH on the evening of 12-05-2021 i.e. on 29th of Ramzan, 1442 AH.”

On the other hand, people belonging to the Dawoodi Bohra community in Pakistan and around the world are celebrating Eid Al-Fitr amid strict COVID1-9 restrictions.

Eid prayers were offered in various cities including Karachi, attended by a large number of people belonging to the Bohra community.

The largest Eid prayer gathering of the Bohra community in Karachi was held at the Taheri Mosque in the area of Saddar.

Special security arrangements were made and a large contingent of Rangers and Police officials were stationed at all the Bohra mosques.

Moreover, the Crescent for the month of Shawwal 1442 was not sighted in Saudi Arabia and subsequently, Eid Al-Fitr 2021 will be celebrated on Thursday, May 13.

NCOC Issues New Guidelines For Eid Al-Fitr Prayers Following COVID Outbreak

In view of the pertaining COVID-19 situation in Pakistan, the government has issued new guidelines for the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr 2021 in order to curb the spread of the virus.

On Tuesday, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has approved new guidelines for Eid Al-Fitr in Pakistan. The meeting of NCOC was held under the chairmanship of Chief Asad Umar in which Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Health Dr. Faisal Sultan and others participated.

According to the guidelines, Eid prayers will be offered in open spaces with adherence to Coronavirus SOPs, keeping the doors and windows open if it is necessary to offer prayers inside the mosque.

The prayers will be offered two to three times in order to avoid the crowd in the mosque or any open space and that the Eid prayer sermon should be very less and people are directed to must wear masks during the prayers.

The guidelines further state that multiple entrances to mosques and Eid venues should be provided. Hand sanitizers should be placed at the entrances of mosques and a distance of six feet should be kept between the worshipers.

Moreover, the worshipers should bring their prayer mat along with them and must perform wudu at home and avoid hugging and shaking hands.

KP Govt. Approves 60-Day Special Remission For Prisoners On Eid

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has granted approval for the special rescinding of prisoners during the festival of Eid Al-Fitr 2021, set to begin from Friday, May 14 in Pakistan.

According to the details, the special relief will not apply to those prisoners involved in offences under Anti-Terrorist Act and Anti State activities.

However, the home and Tribal Affairs Department has issued an official notification in this regard.

Earlier, Chief Minister KP Mahmood Khan had announced to pay fines of inmates who have been languishing in Peshawar central jail despite having completed their term.

He had also inquired about details of all the prisoners who had been unable to pay their fines from the jail superintendent.

He had further added that there would be no compromise on the procurement of enough facilities to inmates.
