PM Imran strongly recommends Turkish drama Yunus Emre for Pakistani youth

Prime Minister Imran Khan has recommended the country’s youth to watch Turkish drama serial Yunus Emre broadcast on PTV for all those who are interested in Sufism.

In his tweet on Tuesday, the premier wrote, “I strongly recommend the serial Yunus Emre being shown on PTV for all those who are interested in Sufism (Marayfat).”

Earlier, PTI senator Faisal Javed Khan said that another Mehmet Bozdağ directorial, Yunus Emre will be aired soon on state-run TV.

He further shared some insight about the drama. “”Yunus Emre (the Dervish) was an Islamic poet, a mystic & a poor villager,” he tweeted.

Faisal Javed further added that the show is the “story of a great Sufi wholly dedicated to ALLAH and searching for unity. It is a journey of transformation.”

Khan also called the serial ‘a great example of meticulous attention to detail.’

The senator has further detailed Emre’s personality, saying, “Yunus Emre was well versed in mystical philosophy, esp that of the 13th-century poet and mystic Jalaluddin Rumi.”

Turkish actress Ezgi Esma Tümen, who rose to fame after her role as Banu Çiçek in popular drama-series Dirilis:Ertugrul, has treated her fans with an ethereal selfie.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Esma has shared a throwback picture and fans couldn’t help but gushed over her.

Dirilis: Ertugrul, the historical TV series started airing in 2014 and ended in 2019 on national channels in Turkey. The show went on to become one of the highly popular TV series in several Muslim countries.

It also set new records on YouTube with an outstanding viewership and popularity among fans.

The series is being aired on Pakistan’s state-run TV on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

After Pakistan Television (PTV) had broadcast Turkish drama series Diriliş: Ertuğrul in Urdu language during the month of Ramadan, the government is planning to air another Mehmet Bozdağ directorial, Yunus Emre on national tv.

As announced by PTI senator Faisal Javed Khan, another Mehmet Bozdağ directorial, Yunus Emre will be aired soon on state-run TV.

Taking to Twitter to announce the latest Turkish offing, he wrote, “#KnowingIslamicHistory. On the directions of PM ImranKhan, yet another hit YunusEmre (AşkinYolculuğu) to be telecast on PTV.”

He further shared some insight about the drama. “”Yunus Emre (the Dervish) was an Islamic poet, a mystic & a poor villager,” he tweeted.
