Legendary Australian cricketer Dean Jones was given a private farewell by his family which included a lap of the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Dean Jones passed away on September 24 aged 59 after suffering a cardiac arrest at a hotel in India.
At the private funeral, a hearse carrying Jones’s handmade Indian coffin and decorated with a floral arrangement of ‘324’, his Australian test cap number, drove a lap around the empty MCG as Elton John’s “Rocket Man” played over loudspeakers.
A private memorial service held last Saturday and was limited to 10 people which included Jones’ family. The footage, however, gone viral on Wednesday (today).
