Amidst increasing Coronavirus cases in the country, the Karachi administration on Monday announced new Covid-19 restrictions for restaurants to be imposed from tomorrow (Tuesday.

According to the details, Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shalwani imposes ban on dining services in all Karachi restaurants from Tuesday in the wake of second wave of Coronavirus.

Only open-air restaurants have been allowed to continue dine-in services, the order states.

He said that new restrictions will help in controlling the spread of the virus.

The Karachi commissioner has directed all deputy commissioners of the city to ensure the implementation of new orders.

Earlier on November 22, Karachi had witnessed a micro and smart lockdown in various parts after steady increase in Coronavirus cases.

According to the order, movement of people residing in areas of Karachi under the smart lockdown shall be strictly restricted.

Only grocery shops, convenience stores and pharmacies allowed to remain open during specific timings, the order stated.

The streets of affected areas have closed with deployment of policemen.

According to reports, lockdown imposed in areas in Civic Centre, Essa Nagri, Gulshan-i-Iqbal Blocks 1, 2, 10-A, 13-C, 19, 13-D, 4-G, 13, 14, 15, and 10, Blocks 10, 12, 3, 8 and 7-G in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gulzar-e-Hijri, Blocks 2 and Block 6 in PECHS, Jacob Lines and Baloch Para.

In district Central, several houses along with streets in different parts placed under micro-smart lockdown. The lockdown also imposed at houses located in Blocks 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 19 in Federal B. Area, Blocks B, C, D, G, L and N of North Nazimabad and some sectors of North Karachi.

According to reports, in district East, over 70 houses and flats placed under micro-smart lockdown.

In District South, 5th Street, Khayaban-e-Momin, 6th Street, Khayaban-e-Badban, 12th Street, Bath Island and 35th Street off Khayaban-e-Ittehad in DHA were placed under micro-smart lockdown until the active cases came down to zero.

Moreover, in Korangi, three houses in sub-division Korangi, and two houses each in Shah Faisal and Model Colony were placed under micro lockdown.

In district West, Surjani Town police station and a flat in Gulshan-e-Maymar in Gadap Town affected with micro-smart lockdown.

Karachi’s administration has on Friday announced to impose micro and smart lockdown across the city after rapis increase in deadly virus cases.

According to the details, Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shalwani, in a meeting attended by DCs and DHOs, took the decision to impose smart lockdown in the South, Central, East and West districts of Karachi.

Meanwhile, micro smart lockdown to be imposed in Korangi and Malir districts of the city. Shalwani said notification in this context will be issued today or tomorrow (Saturday).

The number of coronavirus cases in Karachi is rapidly increasing and the people are frequently found violating the standard operating procedures (SOPs).

the Sindh government has set up an emergency control room in the health department building to deal with the Covid-19 second wave.

A notification had been issued in this regard.

The National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) has issued major Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cities including Karachi, where there is a huge positive rate of Coronavirus cases.

According to the notification, the SOPs issued will benefit to curb the higher risk and spread of novel Coronavirus in Karachi and other cities.

These SoPs will be implemented from today (Saturday).

According to a notification, public and private offices have been asked to ensure that fifty percent of their staff members will work from home.

Indoor wedding ceremonies will not be allowed from 20th of this month, however outdoor wedding parties will be allowed.

On the other hand, according to an order issued by city commissioner Iftikhar Ali Shallwani, anyone seen without wearing mask outside their homes, will be liable to a fine of Rs500 in Karachi.

According to the statement issued, due to the fear of a second wave of the novel coronavirus, the wearing of masks has been made mandatory in Karachi. The commissioner has directed all six deputy commissioners of the city to make sure that citizens are wearing masks.
