Good food and excellent service are two factors that make restaurant chains more approachable. However, there is one multinational restaurant company that is purposefully cruel to its customers. Karen’s Diner, a novelty restaurant chain, has locations in several countries, including Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. To keep their philosophy of offering rude service, the personnel can say whatever they wish to the consumers. A customer documented their visit to the curiously themed eatery, and the video is now going viral.
An employee is shown in the video with a cruel expression on their face smashing the food trays on the table. As if that weren’t enough, the staffer then gives the customer the middle finger before picking up what looks to be a potato ring off their dish and eating it. If this had happened anywhere else, the customer would have been irritated, but at Karen’s Diner, it ended up amused them. Near the end, the client, who appears to be recording the video, can be heard chuckling in the background.

The restaurant chain’s ‘We are rude’ attitude has divided the internet; although some believe eating food from a customer’s plate is excessive, many others believe it is appropriate. “Y’all Karen’s Diner is a novelty restaurant where they are intentionally mean to the guests,” one user remarked in defence of the establishment.
