- He immediately apologized to Amitabh after the incident.
Actor Avinash Tiwary recently recalled an embarrassing moment when he accidentally hit legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan during an action scene while shooting for the 2014 TV show Yudh.
Speaking at an event hosted by Indian Express, Avinash shared that the mishap occurred during his very first action sequence. “The first time we met we had to do an action sequence. I had at that point never done an action sequence in my life. In the scene, he had to punch me and I had to duck and give him back. Fortunately, I only hit him on his head, but the embarrassment I felt at that time, I still haven’t recovered from it. It was pin-drop silence on the set,” he recalled.
Avinash further explained how his instinct led him to react in the moment. “I went in for another punch because they didn’t say cut. It was the instinct of an actor that took over,” he added.
After the incident, Avinash immediately apologized to Amitabh, who calmly responded, “Yes, you hit me on the head.” He recalled asking if they should rehearse again, to which Amitabh replied, “But we will do it slowly,” advising him that “action is like choreography, so just dance.”
Currently, Avinash stars in the Netflix film Sikandar Ka Muqaddar, alongside Tamannaah Bhatia and Jimmy Shergill, directed by Neeraj Pandey.
