Atif Aslam to sing official anthem of T20 World Cup for Pakistan: sources

Pakistan’s iconic singer Atif Aslam will be adding his magic to Pakistan’s official track of the T20 World Cup, sources said.

Sources further informed that captain Babar Azam, alongside other players will also be featuring in the track sung by Atif Aslam. However, no official statement over this news has been received yet.

Earlier, at the occasion of Defense Day, Atif Aslam had released a new song Pighaam Layi Saba, paying tribute to the brave soldiers for the ultimate sacrifices they made for the country.

ISPR has released the heartwrenching patriotic song in collaboration with Atif Aslam and Ameer Gillani to laud the martyred Pakistani soldiers in the 1965 war.

Posted on the ISPR’s official YouTube page, the description of the song reads, “Paighaam Layi Saba is dedicated to the iron will and perseverance of every soldier and every martyr. It showcases the courage and valour of the daring men, who tirelessly serve their country, who selflessly sacrifice everything in order to ensure the safety of their people and land. It also projects the immense strength and fortitude of their families, who never fail to support them.”

Pakistan’s acclaimed singer Atif Aslam is being praised by Twitterati after his longstanding wish to deliver Azaan at Holy Ka’aba begins to circulate all over social media.

Atif Aslam has disclosed his wish of reciting the Azaan at Ka’aba. He wishes that someone recommends him to give Azaan at the holy place.

In response to a question, while speaking to a TV program, the singer said, “I am trying to keep both the religion and the world. I am human, human beings make mistakes.”

When asked about quitting his career, he responded, “I am not going to quit music. There is no such thing in my mind to quit my career.”

Atif Aslam further added that I always pray to have such a chance to be the voice of  Masjid-ul-Haram. “I am ready to work for the person for the rest of my life whoever do the favour to recommend this for me,” he added.

The Doori singer also shared his feelings during recording ‘Azaan’ which collected immense praise from his fans.

“A day before recording it, I couldn’t sleep at night and couldn’t hold my eagerness. The feeling was beyond words. I never thought I’d be blessed enough to get a chance like this,” he said.

Earlier, Mustafa Jaan e Rehmat, Atif Aslam’s soulful rendition of the famed naat of Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan has shattered YouTube records with over 2.1 million views.

Recited with reverence and dedication, the beautiful video begins with the title Mustafa Jaan e Rehmat along with NAAT E RASOOL E MAQBOOL written in white colour to complement the video’s overall theme.

Along with the singer, Ali Pervez Mehdi, Nouman Javed, Ahsan Pervaiz Mehdi, and Kumail Jaffery, too, took part in the recitation. All of them were seen standing with their hands respectfully folded.

He has stated that he has no regrets over not being able to read music like Chashni for Bharat for Bollywood. The musician, who has a long list of Bollywood hits under his belt, further stated that if it was meant to be, it would have happened.

“To be very honest, I don’t think it is bittersweet…You cannot do anything about it so I don’t look back and regret that ‘Oh my God, I think that I would have sung Chashni’ and all that. But it is interesting in a way that I have worked the most over there and I have enjoyed myself thoroughly. The love that I have gotten from there I still have it, my heart has it.”

“It can never be bittersweet because I am a firm believer in the fact that if something is for me, it will come to me. If something is not meant to be, you should not have regrets. So it was not in my control to stay back in Pakistan or not to sing for Bollywood movies. It was meant to be like this and it’s good if you accept certain things and embrace them.”
