ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) issued show-cause notices members of National Assembly (MNAs) for allegedly violating the party on the 26th Constitutional Amendment.
The PTI issued show-cause notices to Zain Hussain Qureshi, Aslam Ghuman, Miqdad Ali Khan and Riyaz Fatiana, directing them to submit a reply for showing indiscipline by violating the party’s discipline.
The notice read that the government had planned to ‘attack’ the independence of the judiciary by introducing constitutional amendments.
“All PTI MNAs and Senators were directed not to support the constitution amendment bill,” the notice read.
It added that all PTI senators and MNAs were instructed not to vote on the amendments and to stay in a safe and designated place and all members were bound to follow the instructions of the party.
Earlier, Barrister Gohar Ali has refuted claims that the jailed PTI Founder criticized the party’s leadership.
Speaking to the media, the PTI Chairman affirmed, “The PTI remains united, with no signs of any forward block within its ranks.”
He explained that the Speaker of the National Assembly had requested names from PTI for the Special Parliamentary Committee tasked with selecting the next Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP). “We provided the names to ensure our participation in the process,” he clarified.
