Late this year, the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) plans to conduct its first-ever hockey league.

The hockey league will be held under the banner of “The Max,” according to information provided to media during a press conference presided over by PHF President Khalid Sajjad Khokhar.

“A significant achievement for the PHF”, Khokhar informed the reporters.

“We have put a lot of effort into getting to this day to introduce our league. I’m glad to finally make the announcement,” he told.

PHF’s CEO claims that through open bidding, specialists have been brought to the management. The initial director of PSL, Salman Sarwar Butt, is also a member of the management team.

Asif Bajwa, the secretary of PHF, hopes that the league’s inaugural season would be a success.

“We held off on announcing this idea for a while. It represents a turning point for all of us. This league will assist in showcasing our talent, finally,” he said.

The competition would initially feature five city-based teams from Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar, and Islamabad.
