Ashley Darby implied that despite her and Michael Darby’s ongoing divorce, she won’t be receiving any alimony payments from him.
When host Andy Cohen questioned Ashley about the “status” of the former couple’s prenup during the Season 7 reunion trailer for “The Real Housewives of Potomac,” the reality star reportedly felt left in the dark.
“Really just did not work out in my favor,” the 34-year-old said.
Her co-stars were caught off guard by the revelation as Gizelle Bryant attempted to clarify, “You can’t obtain alimony?”
Dr. Wendy Osefo, who was equally as astonished, turned to face her co-star and questioned, “Why did you sign that?”
The announcement of their separation after eight years of marriage and two sons between them comes less than a year later.
Despite the split, Ashley swiftly moved on with Luke Gulbranson from “Summer House” after they clicked at BravoCon.
The twosome called it split just a few months later, which Ashley blamed on her estranged husband, but the rebound proved to be too much, too soon.
“It’s not really about Luke, but [Michael and I] just have a hard time period with co-parenting and with separating,” the reality star said last month on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.”
“It’s my situation with Michael that affected Luke and I, and like I said, he was a trooper but ultimately it’s just not there.”
Bryant believes that the heartthrob from “Summer House,” who is 39, and her co-star will soon reignite their affair.
After the Darbys’ divorce is finalised, the “Reasonably Shady” podcast host predicts that the couple will reconcile. She advises listeners not to “ruffle feathers or anger the other side” until the matter of money is resolved.
“I think it totally makes sense that Ashley just needs to figure that out right now,” Bryant said, “And then later, when all that’s inked up, she can live her best life — maybe with Luke.”
