For the first time, Ashima Chibber and Rani Mukerji collaborated on the family story Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway. The Hindi movie depicts the true story of Sagarika Chakraborty, an Indian mother who battled for custody of her young children after the government abducted them abroad. The director talked about how difficult it was for both of them to shoot some of the movie’s scenes because Rani was sobbing in many of them. The encounter strengthened their friendship.

The director added that because Rani was a mother herself, she could relate to the narrative and emotions very well. In 2014, Rani wed producer-director Aditya Chopra. Their daughter Adira Chopra, age 7, is their only child. The actor was able to portray Sagarika’s three-year journey from the time she first arrived in Norway until she was forced to depart without her children throughout the course of the movie.

Ashima discussed her relationship with Rani in an interview with Mid-Day, saying, “When I decided to become a single mother and I was pregnant, she was the first one I confided in. And I saw a side to Rani which was so brave, compassionate, and supportive of me. Rani is the epitome of motherhood. Who else could have understood this story better than her? So, every day was a revelation to me.”

She continued, “It was an emotional ride for us. Rani was crying, and I was pretty emotional while doing the scenes. I couldn’t imagine that someone had suffered this long; 610 days without your child is excruciatingly painful, everything else is peripheral for me.”

Ashima directed the 2013 comedy Mere Dad Ki Maruti for Yash Raj Films. She has also directed episodes of Yeh Hai Aashiqui and MTV Fanaah: An Impossible Love Story. She is the child’s sole mom.

Last seen with Saif Ali Khan, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Sharvari Wagh in Bunty Aur Babli 2, Rani. Later this year, the actress will also publish a memoir in which she will discuss her 25 years in the movie business and other topics.

Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway, a moving movie starring Rani Mukerji saw some improvement on Sunday with earnings of about 2.89 crore. The movie, which had a 1.27 crore opening weekend, has now made a total of 6.42 crore in its first three days of release. Rani portrays an immigrant mother engaged in a protracted legal battle with the Norwegian government to regain custody of her children after they were placed in foster care.

The movie, which Ashima Chibber directed, got good ratings from the critics. It is based on the true account of Sagarika Chakraborty, whose children were just one and three years old when they were placed in foster care by the Norwegian government. Jim Sarbh, Neena Gupta, and Anirban Bhattacharya are also featured in the movie.

Rani Mukerji toured the Golden Temple in Amritsar after the movie’s release. Her heartbreaking performance has received praise from many of her professional peers. Shah Rukh Khan had tweeted in praise of the movie, “What a tremendous effort by the entire crew of Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway. As only a Queen can, My Rani excels in the lead part. Director Ashima sensitively depicts a human conflict. The stars of the show are Jim, @AnirbanSpeaketh, Namit, Saumya Mukherjee, and Balaji Gauri. a must see.

Hans Jacob Frydenlund, the Norwegian ambassador to India, has asserted that the movie contains “factual inaccuracies” and that the plot is a “fictional representation” of the actual events. “I condemn the false statement by the Norwegian ambassador in the papers today. He spoke about my case without having any decency to ask me,” retaliated Sagarika Chakraborty, the subject of the movie. He ought to use this as a chance to educate Norwegian caseworkers about prejudice based on culture.
