Speaking about his father-actor Dharmendra, Bobby Deol claimed that he is still doing nonstop work at the age of 87. This year, Dharmendra will appear in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, directed by Karan Johar, alongside Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. The seasoned actor is also working on the untitled comedy from Maddock Productions with Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.
Bobby Deol, who is preparing for the release of Apne 2, which also stars Dharmendra and Sunny Deol, praised his father’s “hard ethic and enthusiasm for performing” and declared himself “in awe” of him. Bobby added that his father has “worked nonstop” since he was just 10 or 12 years old.
In an interview with News18, Bobby Deol said this about Dharmendra: “I’m in awe of my father, who never ceases to astonish me with his work ethic and enthusiasm for performing. He still signs quality films at the age of 87, and witnessing him in action is incredibly motivating. He has been working relentlessly since he was just 10 or 12 years old, and I’ve never seen anyone else with such passion and ambition. It’s truly remarkable to witness this.”
Bobby added, “In my opinion, a father should always be regarded as a father and there are some boundaries that should not be violated,” in response to changes in the father-son connection. The nature of our relationship may change as we age and our parents age as well, and we may become more at ease speaking and expressing ourselves to them.
Bobby had disclosed to Hindustan Times in a 2022 interview that he had missed his father Dharmendra when he was a little child. Throughout Bobby’s childhood, the actor was extremely busy working many shifts at movie sets and studios. Remembering the moment, Bobby had added, “I used to miss having him at home… He occasionally drove me to filming places, but he was always busy. He would be actively working around the clock to create a beautiful kingdom for us. Even on the sets, he would sleep.
Tanya Deol, a fashion designer, is the wife of actor Bobby Deol. Aryaman Deol and Dharam Deol, their two kids, are siblings. Bobby’s final appearance was in Prakash Jha’s online series Aashram’s third season, which was made available in June 2022. His forthcoming projects include Animal and Apne 2.
