“Barbarianism From RSS-Led Ideology Has To Be Stopped”: Army Chief

COAS vows full support to arrest killers of Sri Lankan national

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that the Kashmir dispute should be resolved as per UN resolutions as the people of IOJ&K are observing Youm-e-Istehsal today.

DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar released a message of Army Chief General Qamar Javed on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal from his official Twitter handle.

Bajwa, in his message, said that lasting peace in the region is not possible without resolving the dispute as per the aspirations of Kashmiris.

Resolution of Kashmir dispute as per UN Resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people is imperative for enduring peace and stability in the region,” he added.

The Army Chief also said that the worst state repression and the inhumane military siege continues in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K), serious violations of human rights and international law are taking place in Occupied Kashmir while efforts are being made to change the geographical and population ratio.

The nation is observing Youm-e-Istehsal on Thursday (today) to express solidarity with the enslaved Kashmiri people on completion of two years of the military siege of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).

It was on the 5th of August 2019, the same day that witnessed the abolition of the special constitutional status of IIOJ&K, which was scrapped by the Modi government and is marked as Youm-e-Istehsal.

A host of events have been arranged in order to denounce the Indian one-sided illegal actions against Kashmiri people as well as the atrocities being carried out by the Indian forces in IoJK.

The participants of the walk wore black bands and carry the flags of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. One minute silence was observed across the country. Traffic was also halted for one minute and sirens will be sounded.

PM Vows To Stand With The Oppressed People Of IIOJ&K

PM Imran Khan said, “Today marks two years since India’s illegal and unilateral actions of 5 August 2019 in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). These actions were followed by unprecedented military siege and restrictions on fundamental rights and freedoms of the Kashmiri people to perpetuate Indian occupation in the occupied territory.”

“Yet, India has failed to break the will of Kashmiri people. Kashmiris face unabated extra-judicial killings, custodial tortures and deaths, arbitrary detentions, burning and looting of houses to inflict collective punishment, and other worst forms of human rights abuses.”

“India’s illegal and unilateral actions of 5 August 2019 and subsequent measures particularly pertaining to domicile rules and the land ownership laws are aimed at changing the demographic structure of IIOJK and converting the Kashmiris into a minority in their own land,” said the premier.
