Elon Musk ditches Apple after meeting Tim Cook

Elon Musk

Elon Musk embarked on a public rant against Apple Inc. less than a week ago. Musk said that Apple has discontinued Twitter advertising and threatened to remove Twitter from the App Store. Since then, the mercurial business billionaire has reversed his position, claiming that Apple never considered deleting Twitter from its platform. Musk also claimed to have had a conversation with Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Musk shared a brief video clip of a pond at Apple’s Cupertino offices on Twitter. He also thanked Cook for showing him around the building. In another thread Tweet, he stated that he had a “good conversation,” adding, “among other things, we resolved the misunderstanding about Twitter potentially being removed from the App Store. Tim was clear that Apple never considered doing so.”

The “misunderstanding” Musk is alluding to is his one-sided public statements against Apple, in which he claimed that the firm had largely stopped advertising on Twitter, and asked whether “they hate free speech in America?” In the same post, he tagged Apple’s CEO, inquiring as to what was going on.

According to Pathmatics, an advertiser database and digital marketing intelligence tool, Apple’s advertising purchases to Twitter actually increased from October to November. According to Reuters, statistics indicated that Apple’s ad expenditure had not deviated significantly from its typical patterns.

The data did not appear to deter Musk, who has been tweeting pretty aggressively about the corporation in recent days. He retweeted a tweet criticising Apple’s market monopoly and censoring policies.

Musk further stated that Apple “threatened to withhold Twitter from its App Store” without explaining why.

Elon Musk did not disclose any data or information on the advertising drop or the threat to remove Twitter from the App Store. While Musk continued to speak out about the supposed problem, Apple and Cook made no public statements or acknowledgements.

EU mandates USB Type-C for Apple iPhones by 2024

EU mandates USB Type-C
  • USB Type C port will replace the current smartphone standard as of the “end of 2024”.
  • Apple’s iPhones are the only smartphones that continue to use its exclusive Lightning Port.
  • Future iPhone models will also be able to have faster charging speeds according to the company.

For some time now, the European Union (EU) has been attempting to standardize the charging port for consumer electronics.

However, as a result of the most recent regulation, Apple will have to release its upcoming iPhones with a USB Type C connector.

The USB Type C port will replace the current smartphone standard as of the “end of 2024,” according to an official press release.

Additionally, this regulation covers tablets and cameras in addition to cell phones. Future iPhones will be most significantly impacted by the adjustment, though.

Apple’s iPhones are the only smartphones that continue to use its exclusive Lightning Port as of right now.

This connector is included on even the newest iPhone 14 series. But with the new mission, this may need to change in a matter of years.

However, since users wouldn’t have to be constrained to the Lightning Port charges that Apple and a few select partners sell, it would only be better for them.

Future iPhone models will also be able to have faster charging speeds according to the Cupertino-based company.

Around the release of the iPhone 16 series, we may anticipate the firm will adopt the USB Type C standard.

However, based on Apple’s resistance to change, it might even be put off until the iPhone 17 lineup.

The news release’s statement that “the new restrictions would not apply to products placed on the market before the date of application [of the rules]” implies that this would happen.

Apple AirPods and Beats to be manufactured in India soon

Apple AirPods and Beats to be manufactured in India
  • Apple has ordered suppliers to relocate production of AirPods and Beats headphones to India.
  • The aim is to increase exports by the end of March 2023.
  • Moving production to India will diversify the currently heavily concentrated industrial base in China.

In 2020, Apple began shifting some of the manufacturing of its iPhones from China to India, and it is currently aiming to do the same with AirPods and Beats.

In order to increase exports by the end of March 2023, the Cupertino business has ordered suppliers to relocate production to the South Asian country.

According to a report published earlier this week on a global news website, the cost of producing one billion iPhones and shipping them to Europe and the Middle East costs $1 billion.

With the current plan, this cost might increase to $2.5 billion by March 2023.

According to analysts, moving production to India will diversify the currently heavily concentrated industrial base in China.

Additionally, India will exploit the move as a sign that it is a manufacturing power to be reckoned with, which could persuade other businesses to relocate their operations.

Apple Dynamic Island imitator Android app crosses 1M downloads

Apple Dynamic Island imitator Android app
  • DynamicSpot provides a dynamic island similar to what is found on the Apple iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.
  • Dynamic Island might have been introduced by Apple with its iPhone 14 series.
  • The app currently has a 4.3 overall user rating, which is a respectable showing.

An Android app called DynamicSpot provides a dynamic island similar to what is found on the Apple iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.

The classic notch has been replaced by the multitasking and shape-shifting Dynamic Island notification system.

Over a million people have downloaded the DynamicSpot app from the Google Play Store, which duplicates Dynamic Island functionality on Android smartphones.

Dynamic Island might have been introduced by Apple with its iPhone 14 series, however, this was just a rumor.

Apple did, however, include the Dynamic Island in the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max models of the iPhone.

According to reports, some OEMs, including Xiaomi, are developing an Android smartphone feature akin to Dynamic Island.

The introduction of the iPhone 14 series coincided with DynamicSpot’s flowering after lurking in the background for some time.

Both smartphones with center-punch hole cameras and those with left-punch hole cameras can use it; it is available on the Google Play Store.

Additionally, it has Android music controls, and the Play Store refers to it as the Dynamic Island for Android.

The achievement of 1 million downloads in a short period of time for the DynamicSpot app, which was introduced on September 29, is extremely remarkable.

The app currently has a 4.3 overall user rating, which is a respectable showing.

The DynamicSpot, according to the app’s creator Jawomo, replicates the Dynamic Island feature of the iPhone 14 Pro on an Android handset.

Users of DynamicSpot’s tiny multitasking function on Android devices can receive recent notifications or changes in phone status.

According to the developer, DynamicSpot is more adaptable than Dynamic Island because you can modify the interaction parameters and adjust a few more elements.

The app will smoothly integrate into Android’s notification system and is compatible with the majority of Android apps.

DynamicSpot requires Android 9 or higher, and according to the developer, the app will eventually include more capabilities.
