Meghan Markle’s new legal step is ‘likely to raise eyebrows,’ expert

Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle’s latest legal step, applying to trademark the term “archetypes,” would “certainly raise eyebrows,” according to a Royal Family expert.

Last month, the Duchess of Sussex filed an application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office to start the first season of her Spotify podcast.

This trademark application pertains to the use of the term “archetypes,” which has origins in ancient Greece and was first used in England in the 1540s.

But the editor of Daily Mail Diary Richard Eden warned on Twitter: “The Duchess of Sussex’s latest legal move is likely to raise eyebrows.”

“Meghan could face a legal challenge from companies that use the word in their names, such as the skincare and cleaning products business Archetypes, which has already established a trademark.

“Victoria Beckham fought a similar linguistic battle in 2002.

“The former pop singer known as Posh Spice tried to prevent the Championship football team Peterborough United from trademarking their club’s nickname ‘Posh’, arguing that the word was ‘inexorably associated’ with her.”

Meghan expresses her sadness as Harry ‘almost’ brings the audience to tears

Meghan Markle

The death of a close friend, Oli Juste, a dog trainer and animal behaviouralist, who first introduced her to the Mayhew animal charity, which she later became a patron of, has left the Duchess of Sussex in “heartbreak.”

Meghan, who became a patron of the shelter in 2019, wrote that his loss left her “heartbroken and reflective” in her letter, adding: “We shared, amongst many things, a commitment to animal welfare, and a deep love of rescue dogs.”

Her moving speech came as Prince Harry addressed the contestants at the Invictus Games, marking his first public appearance since missing Prince Philip’s funeral service.

The athletes were surprised by the call from the Duke, with vice-captain Kelly Leonard saying: “I was nearly in tears when he gave us a team talk. It was really rousing. The message was about what Invictus is about, that resilience and that journey. It was really wonderful to see him.”

Prince Andrew incites worries of a royal return

Prince Andrew

In view of the mounting public hostility to Prince Andrew’s return to the fold, royal insiders have expressed concerns about their developing closeness.

According to sources close to The Sun, there are concerns over Prince Andrew’s rumoured return.

The inside source was also quoted saying, “The need to move to Windsor is growing more and more. Andrew spends a lot of time with the Queen.”

“He lives next door and is always there for her. During the Covid lockdown, the family were glad Andrew was always on hand.”

“There is not a man, woman or child who would not say he had every right to be at Philip’s thanksgiving. But the family have been adamant there’s no way back.”

“There are real fears that despite being banished from The Firm in January, he is using his closeness to the Queen as a springboard back into public life.”

The Queen is handed a dummy hand to cope with the ‘hours and hours’ of waving crowds

Queen

Queen Elizabeth II has been the monarch of the United Kingdom for 17 years and has attended several private and public royal engagements throughout that time.

A joyful and friendly hand wave to everybody she meets is a gesture she is always required to make. Your Highness never loses the patience to demonstrate her regal wave even when she is surrounded by throng for hours.

As a result of the ordeal, a student decided to give the monarch a false hand to use when she was fatigued. Princess Anne, the Queen’s daughter, told the story in 1980.

Anne revealed that the gift was given to Parkinson during the 95-year-Royal old’s Tour to Australia in 1970.

She said: “There were still one or two sort of noisy students about in those days – the end of the Sixties, you know. There was this slightly noisy group on arrival, and we thought what are they up to.

“And three of them pushed out of the crowd with this hand and it was a sort of stuffed glove, for want of a better expression, with a joint. And these three presented it to the Queen, I think thinking that they were being really rather daring and rather cheeky.

“And the Queen took it from them and said ‘Thank you very much, that is what I’ve always wanted!’ And their faces literally dropped because this wasn’t quite the reaction they’d expected!”

Princess Royal revealed where the hand is presently when questioned: “We’ve never seen it again. So if they’re watching perhaps they’ll make us another one.”

‘You used to shout at me so much’ Harry cracks a joke with the Sandhurst PTI

Prince Harry

Harry stunned the Invictus Games Team UK contestant with a video call as members of the Invictus Games Team UK met for a final training camp before the event in the Netherlands later this month.

The games were established by the Duke of Edinburgh to aid in the rehabilitation of injured or sick military men and veterans from all around the world by providing them with the opportunity to compete in sporting activities comparable to the Paralympics.

He said: “Is my PTI from Sandhurst in here somewhere?

“There she is! I can’t believe after 15 years our paths are crossing again.

“You used to shout at me so much.”

She responded: “You needed it!”

The royal continued: “I needed it. Yeah, cool. That’s also fair enough.”

The worldwide tournament will be held in The Hague from April 16 to 22, after being postponed due to the pandemic.

When Harry said that the contestants had had two years to prepare for the games and that fitness should not be an issue, the room burst out laughing.

“You realise that no-one, not just you guys, no-one’s got any excuses for not being fit now,” he joked.

Royal fans notice Kate Middleton’s silent gesture at Prince Philip’s memorial

Kate Middleton

During the memorial service for the Queen’s late husband Prince Philip, royal admirers noticed the Kate Middleton executing a covert curtsy as the Queen passed by.

At the opening of the ceremony, the Queen was escorted down the aisle to her seat and greeted with a gracious curtsy.

The Duchess’ modest curtsy had to be seen with keen eyes by royal enthusiasts.

Kate was joined in making the customary bob towards her majesty by Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, and her daughter Lady Louise Windsor.

Other royal women attending the liturgy at Westminster Abbey did not bow when they saw the Queen.

This is due to royal protocol, which states that one should only bow to the Queen on their “first meeting of the day.”

The Queen and Kate have a touching moment as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge face criticism for portions of their Caribbean tour, with some pointing to heavy colonial overtones.

Princess Diana had no regrets about her controversial interview, expert

Princess Diana

Princess Diana had no regrets about her bashing tell-all interview with Martin Bashir, which she was supposed to do in a very delightful way, according to royal expert.

Tina Brown, who is a royal biographer, wrote about the royal family biography by saying that the Princess was happy about the interview in which she admitted to having an affair while married to Charles, and claimed there were “three in our marriage” referring to Camilla.

She added: “I don’t subscribe to the now pervasive narrative that Diana was a vulnerable victim of media manipulation, a mere marionette tossed about by malign forces beyond her control.

“While strongly sympathetic to her sons’ pain, I find it offensive to present the canny, resourceful Diana as a woman of no agency, as either a foolish, duped child or the hapless casualty of malevolent muckrakers.”

Prince William shows support to his confused son George

Prince William

Prince William appeared to make a friendly gesture to reassure his worried son Prince George during his last official public engagement at Prince Philip’s memorial service.

Body language expert Nick Davies believes George began licking his lips and messing with his jacket anxiously during the memorial last Tuesday, indicating uneasiness.

Mr Davies told the Daily Star: “He [George] takes a deep breath quickly, gulps and licks his dry lips which is caused by pre-emptive anxiety, but he maintains good eye contact and once he is spoken to by one of the clergymen he breaks into a broad smile showing his confidence.

“However, once his father talks to the Navy gentlemen with the gold braiding, George’s mouth tightens to the left and he rubs the bottom of his jacket with his right fingers, showing he feels awkward and is seeking comfort.

“William naturally recognises this by putting his hand on George’s shoulder.”

Meghan Markle wants ‘Archetypes’ trademark that is nearly 500 years old

Meghan Markle

The Duchess of Sussex has registered to trademark the term “archetypes,” which is the title of her first Spotify podcast, which will be released more than 18 months after she signed the lucrative £18 million agreement.

Meghan, on the other hand, may be too late to claim the word, which comes from ancient Greek and first appeared in English around the 1540s.

He filed the application with the US Patent and Trademark Office last month, but he may face legal objections from companies that include the term in their names, such as the cosmetics and cleaning goods company Archetypes, which already has a trademark.

Meghan will host the ‘Archetypes’ podcast, which will feature interviews with historians, specialists, and women who have been typecast.

Kate and Prince William are ‘overwhelmed with remorse after a royal visit

Kate and Prince William are 'overwhelmed with remorse after a royal visit

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went on an eight-day royal tour of the Caribbean last month, their first abroad trip since the outbreak began. The pair travelled to three Commonwealth territories – Belize, Jamaica, and the Bahamas – but their journey was met with protesters demanding an apology and compensation for Britain’s enslavement history.

Kate and Prince William are said to be “overwhelmed with regret” after their “eye-opening” royal tour since their return to the UK on March 26. Correspondent Christina Garibaldi addresses the couple’s “remorse” post-tour thoughts on an episode of US Weekly at the end of the tour.

Ms Garibaldi said: “Prince Wiliam and Kate’s first tour since the start of the pandemic was met with political friction and left the couple feeling remorse.

“The couple were looking forward to travelling to Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas but it was certainly more challenging than expected given the protests.”

“They [William and Kate] obviously knew the history but being there during the protest was a real eye-opener”.

She added: “The couple were met by protests and an open letter in Jamaica which called for the Royal Family and the British government to apologise and pay reparations for subjecting the island to colonial rule and slavery.”

Prince William and Kate are changing royal strategy to follow Prince Philip’s work style

Prince William and Kate are changing royal strategy to follow Prince Philip's work style

Prince William and Kate have taken on an increasing leadership role, settling into their future positions within the monarchy. Since the commencement of the health issue in 2020, when the Queen was compelled to step aside from public obligations, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have taken up.

Former Sun royal writer Charles Rae appeared on GB News to discuss Prince William’s aspirations to change up his job as King-in-waiting and to follow Prince Philip’s royal strategy model.

Mr Rae said: “It seems like he and Catherine want to concentrate on five or six core charity projects, which was what Prince Philip did, rather than the myriad of charities that the Prince of Wales is involved in.

“That doesn’t mean that he’s going to ignore all these other charities, it just means he’s going to concentrate on some of them.”

He added, “this is going to look like as if it’s a rift between father and son but it isn’t really, it’s just a reshaping of the role.”

Mr Rae quoted about Prince Charles’ role as future King: “Prince Charles has made it mean something, he started the Prince’s Trust.”

“He may not concentrate so much on the Prince’s Trust but he will concentrate more on his foundation that he started with Prince Harry which in effect does the same sort of job.

“It’s there to help people, give them a leg up in life so that, you know, perform well in society,” he concluded.

Meghan Markle is seen wearing £500k worth piece of Princess Diana’s jewellry

Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle has been photographed wearing a number of pieces from Princess Diana’s personal collection, including two of the Princess’ own diamonds in her engagement ring.

Prince Harry’s engagement ring, which he gave to then-girlfriend Meghan in 2017, is a moving tribute to the royal’s late mother.

The centrepiece is a 6ct cushion-cut diamond from Botswana, where Harry travelled “for a sense of escapism” when his mother died. Two smaller diamonds from Princess Diana’s collection flank it.

When the Princess died, Prince Harry received her engagement ring, but in a show of brotherly love, he donated it to his older brother when he intended to propose to Kate Middleton.

Nonetheless, Diana’s two little diamonds on Meghan’s ring reflect her presence in their marriage.

However, while this is undoubtedly the most significant of Diana’s jewels that Prince Harry’s bride prefers to wear, it is not the only one.

Princess Diana wore an iconic Cartier tennis bracelet several times before her sad death, and it has recently been seen on Meghan Markle’s wrist.

According to Alexandra Michell, Gemologist Prestige Pawnbrokers of Channel 4’s Posh Pawn, it is valued more than £125,000.
