Pakistan’s leg-spinner Yasir Shah is celebrating his 35th birthday today.

Shah has been one of Pakistan’s greatest leg spinners that the country has ever produced.

He is a specialist who is known for his leg spinners, flippers and googlies respectively.

Cricket Legend Shane Warne also regards him as one of the best spinners in modern cricket.

He made his Test debut in 2014 against the touring Australian team, replacing Saeed Ajmal who was banned for an illegal bowling action.

Shah picked up 7 wickets in his debut match and went on to claim 12 wickets in the Test series, becoming the second highest wicket-taker which also helped Pakistan to whitewash Australia.

Yasir Shah soon became an important member of the Pakistan bowling unit. During the Test series against Sri Lanka in 2015, he became the fastest bowler to take 50 Test wickets for Pakistan.

He was picked in the squad for the ICC World Cup 2015 but he got to play just a single match. Thereafter, he prominently featured in white clothes for the Men in Green.

Board of Governors expresses disappointment over failures of COVID-19 protocols in PSL

The Board of Governors of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed disappointment over the shortcomings in the PSL 6 over the COVID-19 protocols and called for appropriate measures and a zero-tolerance policy.

A presentation was given, based on the report of a two-member fact-finding committee formed under the direction of Chairman PCB Ehsan Mani to review the bio-secure protocols and by-laws of PSL 2021 in a virtual meeting of the Board of Governors of Pakistan Cricket Board yesterday.

After a detailed review of the report, the Board of Governors expressed frustration over the shortcomings in the report and directed that appropriate steps should be taken to improve it.

The BOG has endorsed all the recommendations made by the Fact Finding Panel, including the implementation of coherent and strict protocols, with zero-tolerance against all violators of COVID-19 SOPs for the health and safety of the participants.

The Board of Governors has been informed that the Pakistan Cricket Board wants to conduct the remaining matches of PSL 2021 in a safe environment and to ensure this process, it has adopted a strategy under which the PCB is in the final stages of hiring a globally recognized company that specializes in the preparation and evaluation of the COVID-19-free biosecure environment.
