Recently, the team behind Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani gathered for a press conference in Mumbai to celebrate the film’s success. Though the film had a slow start, it gained momentum over the weekend, setting the stage for a steady performance on weekdays.

During the opening weekend, the film raked in 44.50 crore, and the weekdays witnessed stable collections: 6.50 crore on Monday, 7.00 crore on Tuesday, 6.50 crore on Wednesday, and 5.75 crore on Thursday. The film’s consistent performance throughout the week is commendable and indicates positive word-of-mouth and audience appreciation.

The success of “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” in urban centers has contributed significantly to its box office numbers. However, fueled by positive word of mouth, the film witnessed strong growth over the weekend, culminating in a respectable weekend collection of ₹44.50 crores nett.

As the weekdays rolled in, the film showcased a remarkable trend, maintaining its momentum without any drop in collections, even surpassing some all-time blockbusters like “Pathaan,” “Dangal,” and “Bajrangi Bhaijaan.” The support from corporate bookings has been steady since the opening day and is likely to continue till Wednesday, contributing significantly to the film’s success.

However, the challenge lies ahead when two new releases, “Gadar 2” and “OMG 2,” hit the screens on the 11th of August. The film will need to sustain substantial business before losing a significant number of screens to the new releases.

“Tum Kya Mile” is the first song released from the music album of “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.” This romantic melody, composed by Pritam and beautifully sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, tugs at the heartstrings. The total three-day box office stands at an encouraging Rs 44.50 crore.

Karan Johar’s directorial venture, “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,” starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, has made an impressive start at the box office. The film opened with Rs 10.50 crore, followed by a significant surge on Saturday, collecting Rs 15.50 crore. The positive trend continued on Sunday with collections of Rs 18.50 crore. The total three-day box office stands at an encouraging Rs 44.50 crore.

Urban centers, especially the three national multiplex chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis – played a pivotal role in the film’s success, contributing 63 percent to the total business. With a strong performance in metros, the film is expected to have long-lasting legs at the box office. Other multiplex chains like MovieMax and Rajhans also fared well, adding Rs 82 lakh and 50 lakh, respectively, to the weekend collections.

Corporate bookings added some boost to the opening weekend, but the film’s positive trend without them indicates a promising run ahead. The film has garnered a positive response among its target audience, boding well for its performance on Monday. Karan Johar’s high expectations and the film’s costs call for sustained success, with the film needing to cross Rs 120 crore to achieve the “Average and above” success tag.

Despite the chance of muted growth on Sunday due to the previous day’s Muharram holiday, “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” managed to register a 17 percent rise, showcasing promising trends. A Monday collection in the north of Rs 6 crore would be a considerable achievement and ensure robust weekday performance.

As the film continues its journey, the industry eagerly awaits its fate, keeping an eye on the Monday test. With positive word-of-mouth and encouraging weekend numbers, the hopes are high for “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” to leave a lasting impact at the box office.
