Pictures from Ranbir Kapoor and his then-girlfriend Katrina Kaif’s trip to Ibiza have appeared online in July 2013. Several of the images, which were “taken without permission” and were widely circulated in the media at the time, showed Ranbir wearing blue shorts and Katrina wearing a red and white bikini. On a beach, they were spotted together. Katrina was not pleased when their unauthorized vacation photos were featured in a film magazine and afterwards used by other media. The actor wrote an open letter to the media a few days after their Ibiza photos leaked.

In July 2013, images from Ranbir Kapoor’s trip to Ibiza with his then-girlfriend Katrina Kaif surfaced online. Ranbir was pictured wearing blue shorts and Katrina was pictured donning a red and white bikini in several of the photos that were “taken without permission” and widely published in the media at the time. They were seen together on a beach. When their unauthorized vacation photos were used by other media after being featured in a film magazine, Katrina was not happy. After their Ibiza photos leaked, the actor wrote an open letter to the media a few days later.

“I am writing this to express that I feel very disturbed, distressed, and invaded by my images being published in a cinema magazine,” Katrina had stated in her letter from 2013 (and which were carried by other media). The photos were taken while I was on vacation by someone who, in a cowardly act, shot without permission before using the photos for profit. There is a type of journalism that abuses celebrities in the most heinous ways, going much beyond what is appropriate and private. Running these images demonstrates support for this journalism program.

Katrina continued, “I request that all media refrain from running these pictures.

Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina’s ex, had defended her as well after their Ibiza photos had come to light. “If such a picture of yours, your mother’s, or your sister’s gets out like this, how would you feel?” he had asked the media in a statement at the time. It’s inappropriate to reveal such private images to the public. It is a repulsive action to take. You wouldn’t like it even if your boyfriend’s picture appeared online. Therefore, I believe that if you don’t like it, others probably won’t either.

Together, Ranbir and Katrina have appeared in movies like Jagga Jasoos (2017) and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (2009), among others. They had a brief relationship. Vicky Kaushal, an actor, is now Katrina Kaif’s husband. In Rajasthan, the couple wed abroad in December 2021. A few months later, in April 2022, Ranbir Kapoor wed actress Alia Bhatt in a small ceremony at their Vaastu home in Mumbai. Raha Kapoor was welcomed into the world by the couple in November 2022, after Alia announced her pregnancy in June.
