Elon Musk looks to be a wise man as he speaks out on Johnny Depp’s trial against Amber Heard

Elon Musk

Elon Musk, who was once considered to be a witness in Johnny Depp’s defamation trial against Amber Heard, has appeared to wish both actors well.

The business magnate evidently cared for Depp’s reputation among his followers because he did not say anything negative about him and desired that “I hope they both move on.” They are all amazing when they are at their best.”

On Friday, Mr Depp and Ms Heard’s defamation trial concluded with closing statements. The jury will reconvene on Tuesday to deliberate.

Musk, along with other celebrities, was first considered to be a witness in the trial. However, the CEOs of Tesla and SpaceX did not take the stand.

Heard and Musk are thought to have dated on and off between 2016 and 2018, and the SpaceX CEO was nominated to her jury list.

During opening arguments, Heard’s attorneys claimed that Depp was “obsessed” with Musk. Christian Carino, the former spouses’ representative, previously testified at the trial that Ms Heard was seeing Musk at the same time she was seeking to reunite with her husband.

Musk, on the other hand, looked to be a wise man, as he did not engage in a feud with the actor while knowing that Depp is gaining popularity and coming out on top in the court of public opinion.

Experts feel Johnny Depp has already won

Johnny Depp

According to analysts, Johnny Depp is gaining more support and coming out on top in the court of public opinion, which might be more crucial than whether he wins his defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

“When [Johnny Depp] stepped off the stand, I think he already won based on his definition of winning,” said Texas civil attorney Katherine Lizardo.

“Because he already obtained the favor of the court of public opinion … once he told his story.”

During the second week of the trial in Fairfax, Virginia, the Pirates of the Caribbean testified for four days — and then again for more than three hours on Wednesday. The 58-year-old has publicly stated his case, and legal and public relations experts told The Washington Post that a jury verdict in his favour isn’t as important.

“I think for Johnny Depp, winning the legal side of the defamation claim does not matter to him,” Lizardo told The Post. “Winning – it would just be icing on the cake for him because his main goal for filing the defamation lawsuit was to clear his name and to appeal to the court of public opinion.”

“Right now I think it’s undisputed that the court of public opinion favours him and heard him and are now supporting him. Whether or not he wins — I don’t think it matters to him or even to the court of public opinion,” Lizardo said.

California entertainment lawyer Mitra Ahouraian added that the case isn’t really about winning a defamation claim — but about clearing Depp’s name in the public sphere, as he’s said.

“This case is about using the courts as a platform to tell his side of the story and clearing the record and swaying the court of public opinion,” Ahouraian said.

“It’s more important than the actual lawsuit,” Ahouraian said. “Certainly winning the lawsuit helps because it would establish that something untrue was said about him and that’s a big deal.”

Depp’s legal team made sure to address Heard’s allegations against him head-on, giving his perspective on what happened.

“He went into this knowing that all of this was going to come out,” Ahouraian said. “‘Fine, I do drugs, I battled addiction since I was young, but I am not a wife beater.’ And that’s all he’s trying to say.”

Heather Mcdonald believes Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were “totally awful for one other”

Heather Mcdonald

According to stand-up comedian Heather Mcdonald, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were “totally dreadful for one other.”

According to OK!, the Juicy Scoop podcast presenter gave her thoughts on the former couple’s ongoing defamation fight.

“I think the biggest thing is, they were absolutely awful for each other,” McDonald said.

“At the same time, he fell for a girl that was young, beautiful, manipulative” as they both appeared overly affectionate toward each other.

“When it started to get ugly, they both seemed to have had a very ugly side,” she noted.

Weighing in on the ongoing lawsuit, the Chelsea Lately alum said, “The focus [should be] on the power dynamic of what such a richer, older, more established, powerful Hollywood person that he was over her.”

“They’re [the public] just thinking, did she lie? Was Johnny Depp just a fun drunk? Did he hit her? There’s also just too much evidence to say that she’s a weirdo and she’s lying,” she continued.

“I think when the jury actually goes into the room to deliberate, they’re really gonna have to focus on was this defamation and should either of them be granted any money for it,” she told the outlet.

‘No obvious winner in defamation trial’ : Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard

Johnny Depp

After a six-week trial including searing reciprocal charges of domestic violence, specialist and entertainment attorney Mitra Ahouraian feels there is no obvious winner in the defamation case between Johnny Depp and his former wife Amber Heard.

“I don’t think it’s a winning litigation for either of them, just based on defamation, just based on is there enough of a defamatory remark that comes to the level of being malicious, so both inaccurate and malicious, and I don’t think either instance rises to that,” Mitra Ahouraian told Reuters.

She also feels Depp is motivated by his reputation rather than money.

On Friday, the attorneys for the Pirates of the Caribbean actor and Amber Heard made closing arguments.

Fans nearly fight outside Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s trial

Amber Heard

On Friday, admirers of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard gathering outside a Virginia court nearly clashed during the explosive defamation trial.

According to Newsweek, as the trial’s closing arguments started, supporters who had been camping outside the courtroom for many weeks clashed.

Videos of such situations have gone popular on social media, with the audience booing for Heard while police enforcement surrounds them.

Reuters writer Corinne Perkins tweeted a photo of Dan Kim outside the court brandishing a banner that reads “I stand with Amber” while an unnamed individual makes an obscene gesture at him on Twitter.

According to Eva Wallace, a reputation and privacy lawyer, the case is “a pop culture boxing ring that has allowed the court of public opinion to rule, unconstrained by the burden of evidence or extensive evidentiary analysis.” We witnessed this when Heard mentioned Kate Moss during her testimony.”

“Despite the live-streaming of the trial, many will get their viewpoint from brief, isolated pieces of material on social media, which may likely be carefully presented in a way to influence the viewer/reader to think a specific position,” Wallace said.”

Jury in the Depp-Heard defamation case has begun deliberations

Johnny depp amber heard

After a six-week trial containing searing reciprocal charges of domestic abuse, a jury began deliberations in the defamation lawsuit between Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard on Friday.

After attorneys for both sides made final arguments, the seven-person jury retired to ponder a judgement in the high-profile case hearing in Fairfax, Virginia, near the US capital.

Elaine Bredehoft, an attorney for Heard, stated that Depp’s defamation action against the “Aquaman” actor, as well as a campaign of “global humiliation,” had made her life “absolute misery.”

“It has ruined her life.” This has completely engulfed her. “She’s been threatened with death,” Bredehoft told the jurors.

One of Depp’s attorneys, Benjamin Chew, said that while the 58-year-old “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor is not a “saint” and has suffered with drugs and alcohol, “he is not a violent abuser.”

“He did not deserve to have his life and legacy crushed by a cruel falsehood,” Chew added. “Miss Heard’s portrayal of herself as a heroic survivor, an innocent victim, and Mr Depp as a terrible abuser are completely incorrect.”

“We beg you, we urge you, restore his name, character, and career,” he implored the jurors.

According to Bredehoft, any harm done to Depp’s career was self-inflicted.

“Hold this man accountable,” she said to the jurors. “In his whole life, he has never accepted responsibility for anything.”

“He’s blamed everyone in the world, including his agency, manager, lawyer, Amber, and pals.”

Meanwhile, Depp’s lawyer, Chew, referred to the #Metoo movement, but said, “it’s for actual sufferers of assault, not Miss Heard.”

“No one has emerged from the woodwork to say’me too.’ This is the one and only’me too’ instance where there isn’t a single’me too.'”
Another of Depp’s attorneys, Camille Vasquez, told the jury that the evidence “showed that Miss Heard is the abuser.”

“She was aggressive, abusive, and hateful,” Vasquez stated.

– “Monster”

Depp sued Heard in December 2018 for an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in which she portrayed herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.”

Although Heard did not identify Depp in the article, he has sued her for insinuating he was a domestic abuser and is demanding $50 million in damages.

Heard, 36, countersued for $100 million, saying that he subjected her to “rampant physical assault and abuse.”

During the trial, dozens of witnesses testified, including bodyguards, Hollywood executives, agents, entertainment industry specialists, physicians, friends, and family.

Depp and Heard each spent days on the witness stand during the televised trial, which was attended by hundreds of “Pirates” fans and was supported by a #JusticeForJohnnyDepp social media campaign.

The jury was given video and audio recordings of the couple’s furious, profanity-laced fights, as well as images of injuries purportedly sustained by Heard throughout their turbulent relationship.

Hours of testimony from medical specialists were devoted to a finger injury sustained by Depp while filming a “Pirates” movie in Australia in March 2015.

When Heard hurled a vodka bottle at Depp, he claimed the tip of his finger was severed. Heard stated that she had no idea how the injuries occurred.

Both agreed that Depp used the bloodied digit to scribble inscriptions on walls, lampshades, and mirrors.

Heard said Depp would turn into a physically and sexually abusive “monster” during alcohol and drug binges, and that he refused her repeated attempts to limit his drinking and drug usage.

Depp said that Heard was the one who was frequently aggressive, and that listening to “outlandish” claims of domestic violence levelled against him was “cruel.”

“No human being is flawless, definitely not any of us, but I have never committed sexual violence or physical assault in my life,” he stated.

– harmed Hollywood careers

In May 2016, Heard, who was married to Depp from 2015 to 2017, filed a restraining order against him for domestic abuse.

Depp, a three-time Oscar contender, sued the British tabloid The Sun in London for libel for branding him a “wife-beater.” In November 2020, he lost that case.

Both parties have alleged that their Hollywood careers have been harmed.

Heard’s legal team presented an entertainment industry expert who claimed the actress had lost $45-50 million in film and television roles and sponsorships.

According to an industry analyst recruited by Depp’s team, the actor has lost millions of dollars as a result of the abuse allegations, including a potential $22.5 million payout for the sixth edition of “Pirates.”…AFP

Amber Heard discusses Johnny Depp’s ‘power’: ‘People will say whatever they want for him.’

Johnny Depp

In an aggressive cross-examination from his lawyer Camille Vasquez, Amber Heard discusses her ex-husband Johnny Depp’s power.

Amber insinuated on many occasions throughout her 30-minute testimony that all of her ex-witnesses husband’s are liars in some way, aiming to get fame and money from this trial.

“I’ve heard a lot of people say a lot of things to be a part of the Johnny Depp programme,” she explained at the start of her interview.

Amber Heard reacted in an instant when questioned directly if the witnesses were lying.

“I know how many people are going to come out and say anything they want for him,” Ms Heard said in court on Thursday. “That is his ability. That’s why I wrote the opinion piece. I was referring to the occurrence.”

Heard vehemently denied staging her bruised-faced picture opportunity outside court in 2016, dismissing the former TMZ employee’s testimony about being contacted to attend at the site.

“He is a very strong man, and people love currying favour with powerful men,” Heard remarked, dismissing the testimony.

“I know a lot of people will come out of the woodwork to support Johnny. How many people will do that is evident from this courtroom “She appeared to be referring to Depp’s followers in the courtroom gallery.

Her testimony, she said, has resulted in “hundreds” of death threats every day, forcing her to “relive the agony” of her marriage.

“This is dreadful… this is embarrassing for any human being to go through, and it’s easy to forget, but I am a human being,” she explained. “I can’t have a career as I stand here now. I can’t even have people associate with me because of the threats and attacks they’ll face.”

Attorney says Amber Heard paid $6 million in legal expenses

Amber Heard

Elaine Bredehoft, Amber Heard’s attorney, took the stand on Friday to make her final argument to the jury in the defamation lawsuit brought against her by ex-Johnny Depp, claiming that her client had paid her legal team upwards of $6 million in costs.

Bredehoft said in her statement to an International Magazine that Heard had been compelled to spend more than $6 million in legal expenses to her attorneys in the six years after her divorce from Depp.

She also alleged that the Aquaman actress was unable to pay the entire $7 million gift she had promised to the ACLU and a children’s hospital following the divorce settlement because of the legal bills.

Heard has spent ‘extraordinarily costly’ legal bills since Depp sued her and’started a smear campaign against her,’ according to Bredehoft.

For the uninitiated, a former acquaintance of Heard’s sister, Whitney Henriquez, testified earlier this week that Heard failed to pay the $3.5 million committed to the children’s hospital.

Witness Jennifer Howell acknowledged in a pre-recorded deposition that Tesla creator Elon Musk made a $250,000 gift to the charity Art of Elyseum on Heard’s behalf.

However, the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) has not yet received $3.5 million pledged.

Johnny Depp’s lawyer agrees that the actor “isn’t a saint,” but that he isn’t an abuser

Saint

As his defamation claim against Amber Heard nears its conclusion, Johnny Depp’s attorneys took the stage on Friday to give their final arguments, with one attorney acknowledging that the actor isn’t a’saint.’

According to The New York Post, Chew took to the stand to make one last appeal in Depp’s defamation suit against ex-Amber Heard, and said: “Mr. Depp is no saint, and he’s never claimed to be one. He has made mistakes in his life as we’ve all had.”

Admitting that Depp may have struggled with substance abuse, Chew further insisted that that did not mean that he was capable of abusing someone.

He has struggled with drugs and alcohol … but he is not a violent abuser. He’s not an abuser as Ms. [Amber] Heard claims, and he does not deserve to have his life and legacy destroyed by [a] vicious lie,” Chew added.

Conclusion

In his defamation action against ex-Amber Heard, Johnny Depp’s defence team made their final arguments to the jury on Friday, and the actor’s loving hug exchanged with his attorney Ben Chew has already gone viral.

According to Newsweek, Depp fans extensively shared snatches of Depp and Chew hugging when the lawyer returned to his seat alongside him after making an emotional final argument on social media.

Chew’s voice looked to waver throughout his remarks as he remarked, “It’s about recovering his lost reputation.” It’s about telling Lily-Rose and Jack Depp, Mr. Depp’s children, that the truth is worth fighting for. Yes, it is.”

“And it’s about restoring Mr. Depp’s name and standing in the community to the fullest extent that you can, and you can do something.”

Depp was seen smiling as Chew returned to his seat, and then hugged his lawyer, with one Twitter sharing the clip with the caption: “I’m speechless… Ben’s words teared me up… And this hug burst my heart.”

Another tweeted, “Watching Ben Chew getting emotional and fighting to not tear up during his closing statement was really one of the most touching things in this trial, and there were many. What a great lawyer and empathetic human being.”

People also commented Depp’s legal team comprising of Chew and co-counsel Camille Vasquez, with one fan writing: “Can I just take a moment to congratulate the amazing work that Johnny Depp’s lawyers did this entire trial. Nothing but class all the way, with credible witnesses.”

The jury is expected to start deliberation on the case on Friday afternoon, and if a verdict cannot be reached the same day, the deliberations will then resume after the Memorial Day weekend.

Is Johnny Depp diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome?

Depp

Johnny Depp has surprised fans by making an astonishing statement concerning his mental and physical condition.

The actor addressed the topic when discussing his restraining order and how it “changed everything.”

Ms Heard’s counsel replied to his admission by disputing the claim’s relevance in light of what he had been asked.

For those who are unaware, the conjecture originated when Mr. Depp made a shocking allegation.

He was hushed at the moment by Ms Heard’s legal team and responded with, “Oh. It didn’t affect everything?”

Judge Penney Azcarate instructed him to’mind his tone,’ prompting the Pirates of the Caribbean actor to apologise and declare, “I’m sorry.” Tourette’s.”

The 58-year-prospective old’s diagnosis for the ailment has not yet been made public, although Mr Depp previously referenced it in a prior Los Angeles Times interview, admitting, “I made funny noises as a youngster.” I did strange things like turn off light switches twice. My parents probably assumed I had Tourette’s syndrome.”

“I always have this dread that if I’m in a theatre, I’ll jump up and shout or run up on stage.” Or if I’m out on the town with a friend. ‘Oh my God, we have to go back and walk around that pole back there.’ I believe it is typical. Isn’t that right?”
