UAE Warns Citizens in Prague After University Shooting, Urges Caution

In response to a shooting incident at a university, the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a significant advisory to its nationals residing in Prague, Czech Republic, on Thursday.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the ministry asked Emiratis to use caution and avoid the area where the incident had taken place.

The ministry also urged its people to register for the service, heed the safety directives from Czech authorities, and contact the emergency number at +97180024 in case of an emergency.

Eleven people were killed in a mass shooting at a university in Prague on Thursday, including the gunman, and nine others were critically injured, according to the emergency services department of the Czech capital, which posted on social media.

Shortly after 3 p.m. local time, Czech police announced that they were responding to a shooting incident at a school in Jan Palach Square, which is close to Prague’s Old Town Square. They later reported that the gunman had been “eliminated.”
