ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has strongly rejected media reports regarding increasing the constituencies of ancestral district of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).

According to an ECP spokesperson, Chief Election Commissioner’s constituency NA-82 falls within the limits of District Sargodha and no additional constituency has been created in that area. He said the commission cannot create any additional constituency on the personal desire of a specific personality.

The spokesperson said the Election Commission will not succumb to any pressure or blackmailing.
