On Wednesday, the injured bowler, Naseem Shah, received an update from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Due to a shoulder injury sustained during the Asia Cup, Naseem was unable to compete in this year’s World Cup. In the United Kingdom, he also had surgery.

The PCB said in a press statement on Wednesday that “Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah started the final stage of his rehabilitation today at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore.”

“The young pacer was injured during the Asia Cup in September, after which he underwent surgery in the United Kingdom. Following the surgery, he remained in the UK for two months for rehabilitation and initial training, as the PCB covered his medical costs and he received continuous care from a team of expert medical staff.

“Naseem’s rehabilitation is being continued at NCA, Lahore, under the care of a strength and conditioning coach, a physiotherapist, and a doctor. Currently, he is doing light gym exercises and partial bowling practice and will start batting tomorrow.”

Naseem, a top pacer for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Quetta Gladiators, had made a significant trade to Islamabad United.

After rumors circulated that the right-arm bowler had chosen to depart from Quetta, Naseem became the talk of the cricket community, with every PSL team attempting to sign the 20-year-old.

Islamabad has now secured the first-round Platinum selection for Quetta, while Quetta has secured the third-round Platinum selection for Islamabad.

Strong reports suggested that Naseem would end up playing for Peshawar Zalmi or Multan Sultans, who had just acquired Iftikhar Ahmed in a trade deal. However, Islamabad emerged victorious in the competition to sign the pacer.
