Recently, numerous residents in the UAE showed their support for Palestine by donning watermelon scarves, jackets featuring keffiyeh prints, and T-shirts with “Palestine” written on them at a sold-out fundraising event hosted by Zinn Cafe & Bistro.

The event, held at StudioRepublik on Sheikh Zayed Road, brought together people from diverse backgrounds to raise funds for The Little Wings Foundation (TLWF), which focuses on assisting children from Palestine.

A spokesperson from the café, situated inside StudioRepublik, mentioned the overwhelming response to the event, with tickets selling out rapidly.

This initiative is part of a broader movement in the UAE, where various events are organized to express solidarity with Palestine.

Some aim to generate funds, while others focus on raising awareness about the country and its rich heritage.

Notably, in November, Korean restaurant Hoe Lee Kow and Reif also conducted fundraising events, directing the entire ticket proceeds from their dinners to TLWF, a beneficiary of the Al Jalila Foundation.

According to a statement by the restaurants, the response to the event has been very positive. “The last month has been an extremely difficult one for the Middle East due to the ongoing conflict,” said a spokesperson.

“There are lots in the Dubai community who want to donate and help wherever possible to try and help in whatever way they can. We look forward to hosting some of them under our roof.”

After the event, the restaurant owners took to Instagram, announcing that a grand total of Dh81,250 was successfully raised.
