Saudi Arabia’s Defense Minister, Prince Khalid bin Salman, engaged in discussions with the UN’s special envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, addressing the recent developments in the Yemeni conflict.

“We reviewed the Kingdom’s efforts to support the peace process in Yemen, as well as the road map between the Yemeni sides to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution, under UN supervision,” the prince said in a message posted on social media site X after the meeting in Riyadh.

The meeting also included the presence of Mohammed Al-Jaber, Saudi Ambassador to Yemen, and Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif, Director General of the Office of the Minister of Defense, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

The UN delegation comprised Linnea Hincks, special assistant to Grundberg; Roxaneh Bazergan, chief of political affairs in the envoy’s office; and April Alley, an adviser to the envoy.

Additionally, on Thursday, Prince Khalid had a telephone conversation with Maj. Gen. Mohammed Bagheri, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.

The call involved a review of bilateral military and defense relations between their nations, along with discussions on shared concerns.
