- Sandy Hook families agree to pay off Alex Jones’s $1.5 billion debt.
- They indicated they would accept the sale of Jones’s assets.
- Jones admitted making repeated false claims about the deaths.
Family members of the victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting have offered to settle the $1.5 billion debt owed by conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.
They indicated they would accept the sale of Jones’s assets or a minimum of $85 million over ten years. Jones admitted making repeated false claims about the deaths, leading to harassment of the victims’ families.
The Sandy Hook families sued Jones, winning the $1.5 billion judgment last year. Despite filing for bankruptcy, a judge ruled last month that it would not release Jones from paying the settlement.
The new offer requires Jones to pay the families half of any income earned over $9 million per year.
