ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Friday approached the Supreme Court for bail in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB)’s 190 million pounds case, Bol News reported.
The PTI chief filed an appeal against the decision of the high court. The appeal was filed by Advocate Latif Khosa in the top court on his client’s behalf.
The petition said Imran Khan was arrested in the Toshakhana case. The trial court dismissed the bail plea for non-appearance.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) also upheld the decision to dismiss the bail application.
The decision of the high court should be annulled and the bail should be reinstated, he pleaded.
On November 23, the special court had ordered to produce PTI Chairman Imran Khan and party Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi before the court in cipher case on November 28.
Special Court judge Abu Alhasnaat Zulqurnain had presided over the cipher case hearing conducted at the Judicial Complex in G-11 instead of Adiala jail, following the Islamabad High Court (IHC) orders.
During the hearing, lawyers Ali Bukhari and Khalid Yousaf had represented Qureshi, and the judge had requested a copy of the Islamabad High Court’s divisional bench, which was promptly provided.
