The iPhone 15 Pro couldn’t include a certain technology because of space and production challenges. But the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro series is set to overcome these issues.
They’re making the screen larger (6.3 inches) to fit in advanced camera hardware that was missing before.
Good news is, they’ve improved the production of a special lens (tetraprism) a lot – from 40% in 2023 to at least 70%. This better efficiency, along with the bigger size of the iPhone 16 Pro, means they can now include the tetraprism lens, which was previously only in the Pro Max version.
There’s no clear info on what improvements they’ll make to the lens in 2024, but there’s talk of Apple thinking about adding a “super telephoto camera” with a longer zoom.
