Two commercial vessels, the Glovis Star and Hermes Leader, linked to the same maritime group as the ship seized by Yemen’s Houthis were identified diverting their course in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, according to shipping data and Ambrey, a British maritime security company.

Israel accused the Houthis of seizing a British-owned, Japanese-operated cargo ship in the Red Sea, characterizing it as an “Iranian act of terrorism.”

The Hermes Leader altered its route, sailing back to its origin and incurring business disruption, while the Glovis Star briefly drifted in the Red Sea.

The Houthis confirmed the ship seizure but described it as Israeli.
