- Media Matters manufactured images to portray advertisers’ posts.
Elon Musk’s social media platform X has filed a lawsuit against left-leaning advocacy group Media Matters for America, alleging that it “manipulated” data to harm the platform.
Media Matters claimed last week that X displayed antisemitic content alongside advertisements. Following the allegations, companies such as Apple, Disney, IBM, and Comcast paused ads on X.
The lawsuit argues that Media Matters manufactured images to portray advertisers’ posts next to hateful content, aiming to drive advertisers away.
X stated that the ads in question only appeared next to hateful content for Media Matters and no other viewer.
