  • India Sets 241-Run Target for Australia in ICC World Cup 2023 Final.
  • Australia captain Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to field first.
  • League stage was restricted to 240 in 50 overs.

India successfully defended a target of 240 to defeat Australia by 58 runs and clinch their third Cricket World Cup title. The victory broke the streak of the chasing side winning the World Cup finals as the last three titles have gone to the teams batting second.

Australia captain Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to field first, but the Indian batting lineup failed to capitalize on the opportunity. Apart from some contributions from individual batters, the team that was scoring 300+ for fun during the league stage was restricted to 240 in 50 overs courtesy of the astonishing bowling display by Pat Cummins and his troops.
