A sad thing happened at Taylor Swift’s concert in Rio de Janeiro on Friday night. The organizers in Brazil reported that a 23-year-old fan passed away.
Expressing her profound sorrow, Swift took to Instagram on Saturday to share the devastating news, stating, “I can’t believe I’m writing these words, but it is with a shattered heart that I announce we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show.” She went on to mention the limited information she had about the incident, emphasizing the fan’s beauty and young age
The people who organized the concert, Time4Fun, said that the fan who passed away was named Ana Clara Benevides Machado. They explained on Instagram that Ana Clara didn’t feel well during the event, and the team of firefighters and paramedics helped her right away.
They first took her to the medical center at the Nilton Santos Stadium, but because things were serious, she was moved to Salgado Filho Hospital. Even though the medical team tried for almost an hour to help her, Ana Clara didn’t make it. Time4Fun expressed their heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends.
Taylor Swift’s show in Rio de Janeiro on Friday was a part of her “Eras Tour.” She has two more shows in the city on Saturday and Sunday, and then she’ll be performing in São Paulo starting on November 24th.
