The former MNA of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Ali Nawaz Awan has been arrested on Thursday.

Until now, no other details of Awan’s arrest have been revealed by the authorities.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) claimed that Ali Nawaz Awan had been abducted unlike several other party leaders.

PTI demands that Awan is presented in the court immediately.

On October 25, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) had declared the ten leaders of PTI as absconder while issuing perpetual arrest warrants against them in case pertaining to the vandalizing at judicial complex.

The ones to be declared absconder included, Ali Nawaz Awan, Hassan Khan Niazi, Umar Sultan and Muhammad Asim, Murad Saeed, Asad Umar, Ali Amin Gandapur, Shibli Faraz, Farukh Habib, Hammad Azhar and Omar Ayub Khan.

On May 25, Islamabad police have requested the Ministry of Interior to place the names of PTI leaders, Ali Nawaz Awan, Raja Khurram, and others on the exit control list (ECL) as they might go abroad to evade arrest.

The police have adopted the stance that it is feared that the suspects may try to flee the country to avoid arrest.

Added that the suspects should be prevented from fleeing abroad by placing their names in the ECL.

Police said that a case has been registered against the suspects in the Khanna police station of Islamabad.
