Este time-honored actress and dedicated humanitarian, Angelina Jolie, has once more raised her voice to denounce the ongoing atrocities being inflicted upon the inhabitants of Gaza.
On October 31, Israel intensified its air and ground operation in Gaza, launching a devastating airstrike on Jabalia, the largest refugee camp in the besieged Strip.
This tragic incident led to the tragic loss of over 50 lives and left nearly 150 individuals injured, as reported by Gaza’s Indonesian Hospital.
Jolie has posted a poignant image of the severely damaged Jabalia refugee camp following an airstrike by Israel.
She included a concise account of the camp’s condition, as reported by UNRWA, the United Nations agency responsible for Palestinian refugees.
Jolie expressed her profound condemnation of the Jabalia attacks in her caption, emphasizing that they were a deliberate act of bombing against a population that had no means of escape.
She pointed out that Gaza had been effectively transformed into an open-air prison for almost two decades and was now deteriorating into a grim burial ground.
What was particularly distressing to her was the fact that 40% of the victims were innocent children, and entire families were tragically suffering the consequences.
She emphasized, “While the world watches, and with the active support of numerous governments, millions of Palestinian civilians—children, women, and families—are enduring collective punishment and dehumanization. They are being denied access to food, medicine, and humanitarian aid, which is a clear violation of international law.”
Jolie restated her prior call for a humanitarian ceasefire and expressed her disapproval of global leaders for not advocating for it and impeding the UN Security Council’s ability to enforce one on both sides.
She fervently urged that every life holds equal value and stressed that individuals in positions of authority must promptly take steps to avert additional loss of life.
