Lahore: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC)Sikandar Sultan Raja has said that the time for general elections is near and everyone should work together to ensure a fair and transparent election.
Chief Election Commissioner and Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi chaired a meeting in the Chief Minister’s (CM) House in which four provincial members of the Election Commission and the Punjab Cabinet participated.
In the meeting, the arrangements of the Election Commission and the preparation of the Punjab government for the general elections were reviewed.
In relation to the general elections, the caretaker Punjab setup will appoint a focal person for coordination with the ECP.
Speaking in the meeting, the Chief Election Commissioner said that the Caretaker Punjab government will be fully supported for free and fair elections.
ECP is fully satisfied with the steps taken by the Punjab government so far and the stage of constituencies by November 30.

Earlier, CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja chaired an important meeting to review preparation for upcoming general elections in Sindh province.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has also finalized a security plan regarding the elections in Sindh. Pakistan Army, Rangers, and Police personnel are needed for provincial elections.
