In a predawn incident in central London, a car collided with a bus stop, leaving nine individuals hospitalized, according to police reports.
The incident unfolded at around 03:30 GMT on Sunday in the Aldwych area, where the vehicle struck multiple pedestrians.
The London Ambulance Service (LAS) confirmed that eight of the injured were swiftly transported to hospitals for treatment.
Notably, a man in his 20s has been apprehended on suspicion of dangerous driving, and he, too, received medical attention.
Of the injured, three were rushed to major trauma centers for specialized care, while the remaining victims were admitted to local hospitals.
Road closures are still in effect as the investigation continues. Authorities from the Metropolitan Police have clarified that, at this stage, they are not treating the incident as terror-related.
