Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, President of COP28 and Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), stated on Thursday that the UAE is interested in investigating investment prospects in Pakistan’s renewable energy sector.
During his day-long official visit, Javer told Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Sherry Rehman that the UAE is eager to explore investment projects for its public and private sector organizations and collaborate with our counterparts in Pakistan.
The visiting minister focused on alternative energy, stating that the UAE is eager to collaborate with Pakistan in the renewable energy industry and apply scale and finance to advance renewable energy assets.
Jaber stated that his government is also interested in the conventional energy industry and that he would be delighted to discuss the delivery of products and liquefied natural gas (LNG).
According to a news statement released the day before, the President of COP28 is travelling on an official invitation offered by Climate Change Minister Sherry Rehman to showcase Pakistan’s accomplishments on climate and environmental goals ahead of the COP28 meeting in the United Arab Emirates.
During his formal visit, the UAE minister will also meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
