Zardari urges fed govt to pay declared cotton price to farmers

  • Demanded providing full rights to farmers.
  • Said farmers are not being paid according to the declared price.
  • Urged the Sindh government to take notice.

Former President Asif Ali Zardari expressed his concern over the non-payment of the federal government’s declared price of cotton to its farmers.

He said that farmers are not being paid according to the declared price of 8500 rupees per maund, set by the federal government.

Zardari demanded the federal government take steps to provide farmers with the declared price of cotton.

Added the provincial governments should also play their role in giving the farmers their full rights.

“I specifically direct the Sindh government to take steps to give farmers their rights,” said Asif Ali Zardari.
