ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has been witnessing a continuous upsurge in the covid-19 cases over the past few days and today the active case count stands at 150.

The virus has been confirmed in 150 patients after the tests were conducted on 4,194 patients in the last 24 hours.

The positivity ratio has been climbing up and has reached 3.58% in the last 24 hours while one death is also reported.

Meanwhile, 22 patients are in critical condition.

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) owing to the situation has made wearing masks mandatory at all public places till April 30.

Spokesperson Sindh Health Minister said those people getting tested for covid are the ones who are already with covid symptoms – hence the rate of positivity would be high in that regard.

“However, because most of the population has been successfully vaccinated against covid, there are very few severe cases.”

Those who are admitted to the hospital are people who have actively been working around covid patients. The population at large is not as exposed to the virus as healthcare workers.
