Cillian Murphy, who starred in Peaky Blinders, has taken on another intriguing film job, so he is sure to keep fans entertained for the foreseeable future.

The Irish actor who will portray the lead in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming thriller Oppenheimer, due for release this summer, has recently signed on to star in the feature film adaptation of Claire Keegan’s upbeat novel “Little Things Like These.”

The film, which also stars Emily Watson and Ciarán Hinds, has received the blessing of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s organization Artists Equity.

The tale of quiet courage and hope takes place in Ireland in 1985 and centers on Bill Furlong (Murphy), who discovers facts that the nuns in his town was trying to keep hidden.

Tim Mielants, a filmmaker who collaborated with Murphy on Peaky Blinders, is in charge of the direction, while Enda Walsh wrote the screenplay.

Murphy showed his enthusiasm for the undertaking. The actress added, “I am honored and happy to have the chance to bring Claire Keegan’s beautiful work to the cinema.
