Lauren Sanchez was victim of misogyny on chaotic movie set

  • Lauren Sanchez was a victim of misogyny on a chaotic movie set.
  • She has been accused of leading a wild shoot.
  • Lauren’s worked with Christopher Nolan and Catherine Hardwicke.

Lauren Sanchez, Jeff Bezos’ girlfriend, has made her first independent film; however, she has been accused of leading a wild shoot that resulted in the director’s dismissal, leading insiders to claim that she is the victim of “sexism.”

The psychological thriller “The Golden Door,” which stars Daniella Kertesz from “World War Z” and Chris Rock’s ex-love Megalyn Echikunwoke from “Night School,” was self-financed by Sanchez, 53.

The $2 million project, which was produced by Adventure & Fellowship, a company owned by Sanchez, was shot for 20 days in Topanga, California, last summer.

She was an “infrequent — and to some — unwelcome presence on set,” according to people close to the production, who told on Monday. They added, “But she and Bezos did show up, her more than him, and his teen daughter was an intern on the project and was even given a small role in the film.”

The Puck report described Sanchez as “definitely a piece of work in the over-the-top Beverly Hills striver sense of the phrase” when she announced her relationship with the Amazon founder in 2019.

Despite the fact that she owns her own aerial filming company, Black Ops Aviation, and has previously produced documentaries, such as a short film about William Shatner’s trip to space aboard a Blue Origin rocket owned by Bezos, it also called her “inexperienced.”

According to the report, the film’s first assistant director, director of photography, and script supervisor all left the project during filming.

She also reportedly had a “relatively lavish” trailer despite the sweltering heat and poor craft services, according to a source, and requested to land her helicopter on set.

However, a person familiar with Sanchez told: Lauren’s worked with Christopher Nolan and Catherine Hardwicke, she’s not really unpracticed.

Naturally, Lauren would request the use of her helicopter for aerial footage. She was involved, even bringing her own jewelry for the actors to wear on camera. The extravagant trailer measured 30 feet. She shared a one-room trailer with all producers for Star Waggon.

“It’s simply chauvinist; Lauren has produced for a considerable amount of time, but not for feature films. She’s a Latin lady who supported a film with all females, which is no mean accomplishment.”

The source acknowledged: It was a little chaotic because the movie had a $2 million budget and there were a lot of newbies, new producers, and semi-new directors on the set. There were issues on the set. Lauren is not used to the level of drama that was on set.

Another insider at the production confirmed to Page Six that the DP quit during the first week of production due to a disagreement with Kellie Madison, the movie’s director, adding: He wasn’t getting the director’s creative vibe. The AD left during production’s third week for a “similar issue.” They were both immediately replaced.

Sources told that Sanchez is looking for a new director to finish and recut the film before selling it to distributors. Madison was fired a few weeks ago.

“There is nothing unusual about the team’s decision to hire a new director. The source stated, “They’ll have a complete film once they do reshoots in the next two months, and once the film is finished, they’ll look for distribution.”

According to reports, we saw Sanchez and Echikunwoke chatting happily at the Vanity Fair Oscars party.

In spite of everything else, the source maintained steadfastly that: “Lauren knows she lives under a different lens, but that doesn’t mean that reports like this don’t hurt,” she added, “Amazon has nothing to do with the film.”

“These were things that should have been hashed out before filming started – let me tell you, the behind-the-scenes fallout will be far more interesting than the movie!” said one on-set source, adding that creative and production had the most disagreements.

Madison, who had previously directed a number of low-budget films, most recently the sequel to “Never Back Down: In November, she received a director’s cut on “Revolt,” and producers decided to cut ties with her before “pickups.”

Sanchez stated in a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal that he would like to work in feature films, stating: The best stories are our primary focus. They can be documentaries, commercials, or movies.

When asked if Sanchez will continue to work in feature films, the source stated, Let’s see how things go!
