New Zealand to begin their Pak tour in Lahore instead of Karachi

  • New Zealand to begin their Pak tour in Lahore instead of Karachi.
  • Pakistan Cricket Board has released a revised schedule.
  • PCB, announced that games will be held in the province prior to the April 30 general elections.

After consulting with New Zealand Cricket (NZC), the Pakistan Cricket Board has released a revised schedule for the upcoming home tour against the Kiwis.

The Punjab Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that games will be held in the province prior to the April 30 general elections.

The five-game T20I series will begin in Lahore and conclude in Rawalpindi. In the final phase of the tour, Karachi will host four out of five ODIs.

From April 14-17, Lahore will host three T20Is. Rawalpindi will host the first ODI and the final two T20Is in April. This is an additional New Zealand tour, and the matches will count toward the ICC Team Rankings for the final four One Day Internationals, which will be played in Karachi from April 30 to May 7.

The ODIs will assist Pakistan with setting up their side for the ACC Asia Cup and ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, while the T20I will help the PCB to go on with their reconstructing of the side for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which will be held in the USA and West Indies in June/July 2024.
